Today had been a long, busy day at the circus. During the performances, that Lunas usually did without a problem, had gotten canceled during the show when he just got off of the trapeze and went backstage. The audience was confused and some people demanded their money back. But Fred kept the show going with other performers.
Meanwhile, backstage, Lunas was sitting on the floor, panting, sweating, pale, he just looked horrible. Othello entered the room, and for once, Lunas didn't tell him to leave. "Are you okay? Why'd you quit performing in the middle of your act?" Othello asked. Before Lunas could even answer, he fainted, his head hitting the floor with a thud. Othello quickly rushed over, laying him on his back and grabbing a chair to put his feet on. He went to get one of Linda's children to get a wet cloth and alert one of the other adult performers that Lunas had fainted. He tried waking him up by lightly hitting his cheek and shaking him. He then placed the wet cloth that the kid returned with on his forehead and opened his performance suit to let his body get some air. The show quickly got replaced by a different performer.
Once Lunas woke up again, he looked around the room. He was still backstage, Othello was sitting on his knees next to him on the floor. He let out a kind of groaning sound, rubbing his eyes and taking the cloth off of his forehead. Othello turned his head when he heard Lunas waking up. "Oh dear lord, you're finally conscious again. You had all of us worried for a moment." Lunas gave a weather confused look. His head was pounding. "What do you mean? Was I out for that long? Impossible...It must have been only a few minutes right?", he spoke. He rubbed his forehead, he had a small bruise from hitting his head on the floor when he fainted. He got up, feeling quite disoriented still. Othello got up as well, supporting Lunas by holding an arm under his shoulder. "There we go, Lunas. Slow steps", Othello said silently. They went through and opening in the backstage area of the circus tent that led to all the caravans. Othello led Lunas back to his caravan, laying him down on his thin mattress. "What happened there? I asked you why you stopped performing in the middle of your act and you just went, poof, to the ground...Are you okay, Lunas?" There was no silence, Lunas had immediately replied. "Can you stop calling me by my name like that?", he said in a rather harsh tone. Othello froze, leaving a silence that felt more intense than awkward. "What do you mean 'like that'?" Despite all the effort Lunas made in trying to think of an answer, he couldn't even think of a reason why he snapped like that and said that. "Uh...Sorry," there was a pause. " I didn't mean to sound angry. I don't know what happened." Othello just squinted his eyes lightly and scoffed before walking out the cabin without another word to Lunas. What just happened?...
