The rebels had gathered in the cave, the vast majority sat on the highest and farthest steps of their little amphitheater. Even Usain had gotten out of bed and was now sitting in the front row, watching the Being with his eyes narrowed. They seated it in a chair, tying its limbs so that it would not be able to move.
Everyone watched it closely. An admirable yet frightening figure, the Invicta seemed to be built of titanium. His hair was tied back, his tanned face was distinguished by dark eyebrows, long eyelashes and prominent cheekbones.
Ritael could no longer bear the tense anticipation until he finally woke up. She stood up, took off her right glove and slammed the black-haired monster in his sickeningly handsome face. He raised his head abruptly and blinked in surprise. When it came to him that he was tied to a chair, he raised his eyebrows, but decided not to fight it. Instead, he took a very close look at Ritael.
"An Aeternal. How nice," he muttered, thankfully so that only she was able to hear him.
She grabbed him by the collar and pressed his sword to his throat. "Say even a word to them about me, and I'll kill you faster than you can imagine."
Yes, she was scared by the presence of the Being in their hideout, but she was even more terrified that it could give her away, which it almost has. The good thing was that her friends were so shocked that Invicta had found them that it didn't come to them what the Being was saying.
"Where are the others? How many showed up here with you?" asked Temron, putting a hand on Ritael's shoulder to calm her down.
Invicta shifted his black gaze to the man. "There's no one else."
"Why did you come here?" MJ joined in boldly, though she hid from the Being's gaze behind Temron's back.
"Isn't it obvious? I was looking for you."
Ritael could have sworn she heard the whole room hold its breath. Since the one Invicta managed to find them, the rest would eventually discover their hiding place too.
"How did you find us?" Usain asked.
Exactly, a very accurate question. Ritael watched the intruder, who was now measuring their guardian with a curious eye.
"I forcibly got the information about this camp out of your reluctant friend Ivy."
