As Tobias disappeared, Marshall walked in with Dorian.
"Are you... were you stupid enough to make a deal with him?" Olivia asked, tilting her helmet up to look at Marshall.
"He wasn't. He just spewed a bunch of stuff about--"

"Okay okay okay. No one wants to hear about that." Marshall said quickly.
Jenna looked at the ground. "Can I... talk to you? Over here? For a minute?"
"Um... why?" Marshall asked hesitantly.
"Just do it, Abadeer."

The Ice Queen moved near Fionna as Marshall left, and Dorian stood on her other side. "Such a shame... you know, he likes redheads."
"What?" Fionna asked him, caught off-guard.
"It's true. And they might get back together. In this world at least. Pretty sure he's married in her world. Maybe she's convincing him to try again with the Jenna from this world?"

"But... she doesn't care. She said as much." The Ice Queen pointed out. "Why are you trying to break them up? They're so cute together."
"Why do you care?" Dorian demanded.
"Because it keeps Fionna away from Gumball!"
"Well, too bad. Because look at them." Dorian gestured to Jenna and Marshall.

"They're so happy and so cute together." Dorian continued, making Fionna's face fell. "And how is a blonde, human, 18-year-old goody-two-shoes going to compete with a smoking hot redhead who already knows how he works?"
"I genuinely believe that you are trying to stop me from Prince Gumball." The Ice Queen huffed.

"Oh, no no no. Even though making gum really cold makes it hard..." Dorian trailed off at the Ice Queen's face. "Hm. In any case, cold gum is unchewable."
"I don't want to eat him! I want to marry him!"
"Don't... don't those basically mean the same thing?" Dorian inquired.
Fionna and the Ice Queen moved away from him a little.

"In any case, if you sign an agreement with me, I'll use my powers to make sure that Marshall Lee loves no one but you." Dorian purred. "You will be his everything."
"I don't... I don't want Marshall like that."
"Yes, you do. It's obvious!" Dorian snarled.
"No, I mean... I like him like that, sure. But I don't want to force him to like me! If I do that I'm no better than Lee!"

"No no no. It's okay." Dorian purred. "It's not like you're doing anything wrong... and I can make all your dreams come true."
"You are just as creepy as Lee." The Ice Queen noted.
"I don't want to force him into anything. Marshall is a good guy and a good friend, and he means so much to me." Fionna told Dorian. "If-if he is happy with Jenna, then... that's okay. Because at least he's happy."

Dorian stared at her for a long minute. "I hate you." He finally said. "I despise you, and I despise your little boyfriend. I hate the fact that you are so difficult, and I hate the fact that you two won't just grow a pair and confess your feelings to each other."
"Fionna's a girl. A pair of what?" The Ice Queen asked.
"Ovaries." Dorian growled, right before he disappeared.

"Guess it's me next. Bye, Marshall." Jenna said.

When she had pulled him aside, he had glared at her. "What is this about, Jenna?"
"Look. I realize that our relationship fell apart--"
"Are you coming onto me?" He demanded.

"No. I'm not." She growled. "I'm trying to help you. It wasn't your fault, okay?"
"Yeah. It was your lack of disinterest. Can I go now?" Marshall asked.
"Well, partly. But I'm guessing that it did not help your self-esteem or whatever. And that's fine, I broke up with you in kind of a brutal way."

"I honestly don't give a crap."
"Yeah, you did. Now, let me explain something to you."
"I don't have time for this."
"Sit down, and shut up, because I am trying to do a nice thing for you Marshall Lee Abadeer, and quite frankly, I'm not entirely sure you deserve it if you're going to be such a buttbag about it." Jenna growled.

"Fine. What is your problem?" Marshall snapped.
"When we were together, and... actually still... I um... I have a sort of, problem. It's an addiction. I um... I have an addiction to sex."
"...what?"
"You heard me. It's not something I'm proud of, and regardless of whether or not I was just using you and your position to execute my father."
"That's the part I have a bigger problem with, actually." Marshall frowned.

"Yeah, well, what I mean to say is, it wasn't your fault, what happened between us. And you and the blonde girl are cute together, and you shouldn't be worried about asking her out because of what happened with us."
Marshall crossed his arms. "I'm not worried about that. Fionna's a better person than you will ever be."

Jenna stuck her hands in her jeans' back pockets. "You are very insecure about this. So, clearly you are worried. And yeah, she seems like a nice girl. Probably isn't getting close to you as part of a plot to get revenge on someone, so that's a plus."
"True. Fionna is amazing."
"Yeah. And she's totally into you, and you're head over heels in love with her, so what's the problem?"

Marshall frowned. "I don't have to answer to you."
"Fine." Jenna shrugged. "Answer to yourself."
"I will. And it's going to be awesome, and we're going to be deeply in love, and everything's going to be great, so step off!"
"Great. Stop being so defensive. It drove me and every other girl you've ever dated crazy."

"You don't talk to them!" Marshall growled. "That is a lie!"
"How do you know? I live in an alternate universe." Jenna smirked. "Bye, Marshall."
Marshall stormed away, and ended up next to Fionna as the last of them disappeared.
"Is everything okay?" She asked.
"I... yeah. Everything is just fine."

The Lich finally freed herself. "Alright, so what now?"

The Lich rolled her eyes as the tank door shut.
"She'll be perfectly fine in there until we figure out what to do with her." Gumball stated. "She's definitely not going to escape anytime soon."
"Mostly due to a lack of currently wanting to." The Lich sighed.

"In short, there shouldn't be a nightmare problem anymore." Gumball said, ignoring her.
"I guess..." Fionna said. "If the experience didn't cause nightmares..."
"You kicked his butt though." Marshall pointed out.
"Yeah, I did." Fionna agreed.
"Whose butt?"

"Um... I forget his name... Olivia called him 'Creepy McFang-Fang'." Marshall shrugged.
"His name was Lee." Fionna sighed. "And he had a weird thing for me, so..."
"I see." Gumball agreed. "That is indeed quite serious. But everyone's fine, right?"

"Yeah."
"Totally."

"Hmm... so... while you two were on your little adventure, did anything come out?"
"The Ice Queen thinks we're a cute couple." Marshall noted. "And my ex-girlfriend. And the Lich."
"Which is weird, 'cause, um..." Fionna trailed off, and she and Marshall looked at each other out of the corner of their eyes.
"They insist on acting like middle-schoolers." The Lich sighed from her tank.

Gumball nodded. "Oh, totally."
"You guys really aren't helping." Fionna sighed, before she and Marshall simultaneously took a deep breath.

"Marshall, I--"
"Fionna, I--"

Unfortunately, the fire alarm rang.
"Hm. Time to evacuate." Gumball said calmly. "Um, Lich...?"
"I'd rather not suffocate." The Lich huffed. "Smoke is an issue."
"You are technically an immortal skeleton monster thing."
"Yeah. But if you leave me here, I will break free." The Lich shrugged. "Your move, Prince Blowpop."

"I'm not... alright, but after the fire, you have to go right back in."
"Okay. Stop arguing and set me free."

*Author's Note*

1) Sorry for the mediocre chapter and the drawn-out love confessions (which are kind of OOC, especially after they got lectures about it). That must be really annoying. Don't worry, 'cause I'll soon be getting back on track with this.

2) Fun fact: I'm pretty sure 'Prince Blowpop' was Gumball's original name before it was cut because that's actually a brand name. I need sources for things though...
