"You sure you want to do this?" Marshall grinned.
"You want your crown back, don't you?" Fionna whispered. "It's been a few years, after all."
He smirked at her. "You can honestly keep it. I just want you."
She squeezed his hand as the priest shot them both a look. "Do you, Fionna Emily Mertons, take this man to be your husband, and king of the vampires?"

"I do." Fionna said.
"Does this mean I have to go through the stupid coronation thing again?" Marshall whispered to her. She nudged him.
"Then I present you all with the King and Queen of the vampires. You may kiss the bride."

Marshall dipped her backwards, kissing her fiercely. Someone coughed, and they broke apart.
"What, you're making up for the fact that you didn't get to see me all day?" Fionna teased as they moved into the reception.
Marshall smirked at her. "Well, besides that, it's not everyday I get to see you in a dress."
Fionna laughed. "It's not going to become a habit."

"All the more reason for me to pay attention when you do. Not that you aren't stunning anyway. In fact, I think you'd look somehow even more striking without the dress."
Fionna laughed. "We're already married. You don't have to use any more corny lines on me."
Marshall kissed the top of her head. "It's fun, though. You're always going to be my good little girl, and it's always going to be fun to tease you."

"If I'm your good little girl, doesn't that mean you're my bad little boy?" Fionna smiled.
Marshall grinned. "Of course. Forever and always."
Someone cleared their throat in front of them, and they turned away from each other.
Timothy bowed quickly once. "Your Majesties, congratulations."

"Hey, Timothy." Fionna said. "What's up?"
Timothy adjusted his glasses. "I thought it pertinent to inform you that, especially given your... string of admirers over the last few years, since your coronation, this ceremony is sure to ruffle some feathers. Especially among those who originally tried to marry one of their family members, if not themselves, off to your husband."
"We don't care." Marshall smirked, leaning against Fionna.

Timothy shot him a look. "You should. They're going to be insufferable, and I refuse to take any of them away from you. I warned you years ago to handle this situation with tact."
"But then he lost his title." Fionna smiled a little. "Thanks for the warning though, Timothy."
The man in question bowed his head and left.

"I'm not going to get you to myself all day, are I?" Marshall pouted.
Fionna shrugged. "Probably not."
"Probably?" Marshall snorted. "Are we going to disappear into a broom cupboard or something? I mean, I know you want to start our honeymoon early, what girl wouldn't want my hot bod--"
He was interrupted by Fionna's laughter, and he smiled softly, leaning against her and resting his head on top of hers.

She entwined her hands with his, and leaned back against him. "I'm not any more eager than you are."
He planted a quick kiss on her ear. "Honestly? Part of it is how happy it makes me to hold you like this."
She chuckled. "You're so corny."
"You love it."

"Not as much as I love you."

*Author's Note*

Just to be clear, the implication here is that Fionna stopped Gumball in the last chapter and remained both a vampire and the Queen. When she married Marshall, he technically regained his title as King, though he's not really the king anymore. He's more like the consort. (He is the Albert to her Victoria.)
