The Hunger Games: Titus's Games

The Games day 3 part 6

Tyler nudges me to open my eyes and I look to see that Titus is gone and the bodies are gone too. The blood is still on the snow but it’s not as bad as before. I run up to the edge of the cave and look inside. Titus must have gone from where he came from. Then Tyler calls to me.

I look to my left and see him, district 8 with a knife all I do is freeze. I don’t know why but the axes are right at my belt but I don’t do anything. As if in slow motion I see the knife come down and at the same time Tyler pushes me out of the way. Then Tyler and I fall into the cave and I turn to the entrance and see Titus attack the boy from 8 and with a scream from the boy the snow falls on the two of them.

I look to see Tyler but there is nothing but darkness I pull out of my pack some matches and stick one. I see Tyler pale on the cave floor I pull out the wood we cut running away from the sinkhole and start a fire. I kneel next to him and look at his leg. Its bad covered in blood and very deep. I start to panic because I don’t want to lose Tyler.

“Are you ok?” he asks me and the flood of emotions get to me and I start crying. So then I sound like I’m being chocked or an avox is crying and when I hear myself and I stop and curl into a ball.  All I can do is think to myself you’ll be ok you’ll be ok. “Are You OK!” Tyler yells at me and the message reverberates around the cave. I don’t understand it: he’s hurt and he wants to know if I’m ok. I nodded and the tears were still on my face. I blinded so I could look at him. In the fire light his blue eyes were...beautiful how did I not notice it before. His hand came to my face and his thumb wiped tears from my face. But after his hand just stayed there and I didn’t mind.
