The BAU returned to the Manhattan police precinct to delve into the profile. Upon their arrival, Hotch provided an update, "We obtained the security camera footage, but only the elevator cameras caught the last time the victims were seen alive."
Rossi, scrutinizing the information, commented, "There's no footage of anyone going after them within a radius of 30 minutes." He concluded, "The unsub uses the stairs."
Hotch mused, "It's a deliberate choice. The stairs provide anonymity and avoid detection. The unsub might be someone familiar with the building's layout."
Castle, adding her perspective, suggested, "Maybe someone who has access or a reason to be in the building regularly without drawing attention."
Morgan, maintaining their usual banter, called Garcia for assistance. "Hey babygirl, be good and get something for me" Garcia playfully answered back, "Only if the order comes with fries and a tall glass of chocolate milkshake." Adrienne found herself quite entertained by their dynamic. Morgan, seizing the opportunity, asked Garcia to run a background check on the building workers.
Castle, interrupted and asked, "What about the neighbors?"
Emily, finding it curious, inquired, "What makes you say that?"
Castle responded, "It would be a better story." Everyone chuckled at her theory, so she defended it, "C'mon. What does anyone know about their neighbors? Do you think people knew they lived next to the Son of Sam?"

Reid, interjecting with his genius perspective, added, "It's true. In all of the neighborhood's testimonies, they claimed not having any clue who he was."
Castle then adds, "What about the guy in 8B?"
JJ turns to her and asks, "Who?"
This unlocks Adrienne's writer story telling and she starts narrating while circling around each team member. "8B. Quiet guy, you see him everyday but never really notice him." She walks towards the girls, "He sees the nanny, the yoga instructor and the pretty neighbor. Young beautiful people that a guy like him could never have a chance with."
She continues and stands next to Hotch and Rossi. "He'll first figure out their schedule. When the nanny did the laundry. When the yoga instructor had to run to his next class. When the pretty neighbor comes back from her daily run."
Castle turns around and faces the board with the murder scenes pictures. "Until it becomes something more, something that he can't control." Finally she walks toward Morgan and Reid, who can't keep their eyes of her. "He'll use the stairs, obviously, to avoid the elevator's cameras and then he just waits, concealed in the shadows, when Sarah comes into that laundry room, when Noah takes the shortcut to his bus stop, when Melanie finally comes home."
