Jay tried to hide his laugh as he strapped my feet to the board. "Stop laughing. I've never done this before." I whined.

"I think it's cute." Jay mumbled. He stood up then helped me stand. I wobbled when he let go. "I've got to put mine on then we'll go down." He nodded to the hill. My eyes widened.

"We're going down that?" I asked. He chuckled with a nod. "Do you want to die?" He gave me a look.

"I've been down several times." Tate mumbled as he walked past. I wobbled and fell on my butt causing them to laugh. I pouted as Tate helped me stand back up.

"Stop laughing at me. I've never done this. Never even seen this much snow." Tate made sure I was sturdy before letting go.

"You'll get it. You're a sporty person and you learn quickly. You'll be a pro in no time." He tried to assure me as Jay stood up beside me.

"Ready?" I looked at the hill.

"Can you break bones by doing this?" They shared a look.

"I'll hold your hand." Jay offered. I nodded.

"Okay, let's try this."

I fell a lot. Jay tried to go down holding my hand, but I kept dragging him down with me. I ended up giving up after about the hundredth fall. Plus, I was freezing. I decided to head inside. Jay offered to come in with me, but I knew he wanted to stay out. I didn't need him around all the time. I'd be fine alone for a few hours. I wouldn't really be alone anyway. The resort was full of his family. He had a big family not counting the ones who lived with him. I went to our room to change then curled up in a chair in front of the fireplace with a book. I always loved reading in front of a lit fire when it was cold outside. It was so cozy.

I looked up as someone sat down beside me. I smiled politely when I didn't recognize the girl. "You're Jay's girlfriend, right?" She asked. I nodded slowly. "I'm Mary Beth's friend. I come with them every year." She introduced herself.

"Blaire." I told her. She nodded.

"Jay's never brought a girl with him. The other guys did a few times. Jay's never even brought a friend with him." She mumbled. I just nodded. "I hear you know the family well." I nodded again.

"My grandma and Gran used to be neighbors." I explained.

"I should leave you alone. Let you enjoy your time. Before..." She trailed off.

"What?" I put my book down.

"Well, before Jay leaves you. You know, he's just using you for sex. He doesn't keep girls around for long. He just uses them for sex then dumps them." I just gave her a look. "I know personally. He did the same thing to me." She added. I just nodded. I didn't believe her. She obviously didn't know Jay that well.

I smiled as Jay sat down beside me. "So," I mumbled. He raised an eyebrow at me. "Did you know that you use girls for sex then dump them? That you're just using me for sex?" I asked. He gave me a look like he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Am I now? Well, at least I picked the perfect girl this time." He joked. I laughed.

"Did you know you used Mary Beth's friend like that?" He shook his head.

"Becca. We ask Aunt Kim not to let her come every year and she still shows up." He mumbled. I moved so I was sitting in his lap. The room was empty except for us anyway. "Last year, Bryson brought a girl with him and she told the girl some stuff that caused them to fight. Not Becca and the girl. The girl and Bryson. They broke up because of it." I kissed his neck.
