TARA

Today's the day we're leaving for Udaipur.

Ishani was accompanied by her family, and Anirudh was with his, while Jatin and I were set to travel together in a separate car. Anirudh's and Ishani's extended family members were expected to join us later.

Unfortunately, Nanu and Nani couldn't come due to Nani's arthritis, which restricted her from long travels. Considering the wedding festivities and potential strain, it was wise for them to stay back.

And guess what? Our gang got even cooler with the addition of Parth and Kritika! These two were big shots at Nexus Healthcare—Parth, a general surgeon, and Kritika, a psychiatrist. We first met at Ishani's NGO. We bonded over helping out and since then we've been best friends.

And, hold your excitement, they're both showing up today!

"Jatin, let's pull over here for breakfast. Everyone must be starving," I suggested, pointing towards the haveli in front of us.

"Of course, Di. We left at 5 in the morning; hunger is inevitable," he complained, turning the wheel to stop the car.

"And what are you, a kid? Always hungry and complaining," I added. He's like a little brother to me, always throwing tantrums, and me, being the older sister, always indulging him.

"Thank god, honey, you stopped here; otherwise, I thought we might reach the wedding venue before anything hits my stomach. My hungry pet mice are doing gymnastics," she remarked after getting out of the car, entwining her hand with mine as we headed inside.

"Haye, my little one is hungry. I'll have to tell Anirudh jiju that your soon-to-be wife's stomach is a black hole," I teased her.

"Oh, I thought you were talking about yourself, forgot how we used to sneak out of the house at night just for your midnight cravings," she muttered, glaring at me.

"Hey Bhagwan, you've given me two kids to handle." I looked up at the sky.

"The first one is obvious, me, but who's the second?" she asked.

"And who else, it's me—her cute little brother," Jatin declared proudly. Seeing Ishu's hand entwined with mine, he also did the same with my other hand. These two, God knows when they'll grow up.

"Quickly order whatever you want to eat; we still have a long way to go before reaching the venue," Maya Malhotra, Ishani's mom, advised us.

"Mom, we just arrived; don't talk like Taru. You both seem exactly the same; Taru, it feels like you're her daughter too," Ishani said, laughing.

"Of course, she is my daughter." Aunty said, caressing my hair and I nodded with a smile on my face.

Uncle, aunty, and the rest of the family settled at one table, while Ishani, Jatin, Shilpa, Manav (Ishani's cousins), and I took another. After placing our orders, we waited eagerly. In about 20 minutes, our food arrived.

As we began chatting and enjoying our meal, I received a call from Parth. "Hey, Parth! When are you guys getting here?" I inquired over the phone.

"Oh, you guys are already here?" I asked in surprise. "Yeah, come inside; we're all here already." With that, I ended the call.

"Ishu, Parth and Kritika are here. They saw our car on the way, and now they'll be joining us here," I informed everyone.

"Finally, after so many days, we'll all be together without any work. I'm all set for the real fun." she exclaimed in excitement.

"I'm already getting the wedding vibes!" Jatin shouted in excitement.

"Absolutely! We'll all rock Ishani's wedding. Let's make it epic!" Shilpa screamed, her mouth full of sandwich, raising her coffee cup in cheers.
