Chapter 1

It was the beginning of summer. The hotness just beginning to settle in, bugs everywhere, not my cup of tea. Although, I do enjoy the activities the summer time has to offer. I had just finished college that May, achieving my degree in nursing. I was having trouble finding a job in my desired field. All I had was time to kill, doing so I decided to apply for a job as a ranger for my towns wildlife park in the meantime, lord knows I needed the money. My basic duties were feeding & caring for the buffalo, checking the perimeter hourly for any disturbances or what have you, but it was basically just sitting on my ass all day. To make sure that I wasn't sitting around all day my boss would give me things to do that weren't in the job description, which didn't really bother me, because I can't be in one spot for too long, I have to be out and about. One day while I'm sitting at my desk minding my own my boss comes up to me "Kamryn, I'm going to need a big favor from you." he says. "What is it?" I ask. "Well as you know there is going to be a youth retreat down here in the next few days and I just found out today that we are going to be having a special guest coming.." he says. "Annnd?" I reply. "And I'm going to need you to just show him around, make him feel comfortable." he requested. "Him? Well who is it?" I ask. "It's the guy from that marvel movie, Guardians of The Galaxy, main character. I forget his name. He's one of the speakers for the retreat, we figured he'd have a good influence on the kids being that he portrayed a superhero." he implies. "Chris Pratt? Hmm... wonder how they got him to come down to this lame town. Ohh yea, just because he portrays a superhero in a movie doesn't mean he is one, but whatever. I guess I can do it, beats sitting around all day." I reply. "Ok, good. Greatly appreciated. You'll have to go pick him up at the four seasons in the city on Thursday at 8:30 am he has to be here by 9:00 am. Ohh and don't be so smug about it, just be happy. It's for the kids of our town. He's coming all this way for our youth, please be thankful. It's not everyday we get a big star like this person to come out." he insists.
