Jason had been mulling over how to ask Piper to Camp Half-Blood's prom for a week now. He wanted it to be special, something that truly reflected his feelings for her. As Jason and his friends gathered to clean up the dining hall after dinner, the topic of prom naturally came up. With brooms in hand and tables being wiped down, they discussed plans for the upcoming event.
"So, guys," Frank said, breaking the silence as they worked. "Have you figured out how you're going to ask the girls to prom yet?"
Jason shrugged, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "I want it to be something Piper remembers. Something special. So, guys, I need your help," Jason said as they gathered around the table in the Mess Hall. They
Leo's eyes lit up with mischief. "Ooh, I've got an idea! You should dress up as a flying pig and swoop down from the sky to ask her. It'll be hilarious!"
Percy rolled his eyes hitting him of the back of the head playfully. "Leo, come on, this isn't one of your pranks. Piper would probably want something simple and meaningful."
Frank nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Percy's right. Maybe something heartfelt, like a romantic gesture or a heartfelt speech."
Jason considered their suggestions. "You're both right. I want it to be special but not over-the-top. I want Piper to feel loved and appreciated."
Leo sighed dramatically. "Fine, be boring. But mark my words, a flying pig would've been epic."
As they continued to discuss ideas, Frank couldn't help but fidget nervously. Leo's outrageous suggestions aside, he had his own dilemma. He had been crushing on Hazel for a while now, but he wasn't sure how to ask her to prom.
"Hey, uh, guys," Frank began tentatively. "I know we're talking about Jason and Piper, but I could use some advice too. I really want to ask Hazel to prom, but I'm not sure how to do it."
Percy clapped Frank on the back. "Don't worry, Frank. Just be yourself and tell her how you feel. Keep it simple and from the heart."
Frank couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of Percy and Annabeth. "Easy for you to say" he said, a grin spreading across his face, "I'm pretty sure Annabeth already got a colour-coordinated spreadsheet mapping out the entire event, including your proposal."
Percy laughed along with the rest of them, nodding in agreement. "You know what, Frank? You're probably right. I'm just lucky to have her take care of all the details."
Frank chuckled, shaking his head. "Yeah, it must be nice to have someone as organized as Annabeth. Meanwhile, I'm over here trying to figure out how not to trip over my own feet while asking Hazel to prom."
As they continued discussing prom proposals over desssert, Leo couldn't resist injecting his signature humor into the conversation. With a mischievous grin, he turned to Jason and quipped, "Hey, why don't you just use your God-given powers to your advantage, Jason? I mean, you're a son of Zeus, right? You could summon lightning or make fireworks go off or something. Piper would say yes before you even finish asking!"
Jason laughed at the suggestion, but then something clicked in his mind. He paused, a thoughtful expression crossing his face as he considered Leo's words. Suddenly, it was as if a lightbulb switched on above his head.
"Wait a minute," Jason said slowly, a grin spreading across his face. "Leo, you might be onto something there."
His friends looked at him curiously, intrigued by the newfound determination in his eyes. With a newfound sense of purpose, Jason realized that perhaps his demigod abilities could indeed play a part in his prom proposal to Piper, might as well use the gifts his "Alimight and great' Dad gave him and his sister. And as he mulled over the possibilities, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of creating a truly unforgettable moment for the girl he loved.
§ Day of the p
On the day of the proposal, Jason and Piper met at the beach, where he had set up a romantic picnic. As they enjoyed their meal and talked about camp and friends, Jason's nerves threatened to overwhelm him. But seeing Piper's smile and hearing her laughter filled him with a sense of purpose.
After finishing their meal, Jason led Piper to Thalia's pine tree, a spot that held special significance for them. With a gentle touch, he guided her to close her eyes, trusting him completely.
Feeling the rush of wind against her face, Piper clung to Jason as he lifted her off the ground and into the sky. At first, she was scared, but as they soared higher and higher, she felt a sense of freedom unlike anything she had ever experienced.
As Jason guided Piper through the clouds, her initial fear melted away into exhilaration. However, as they reached a particularly high altitude, a wave of nervousness washed over her. Feeling the ground far below, she couldn't help but grip Jason tighter, her knuckles turning white with tension.
"Jason," she murmured, her voice trembling slightly. "I-I think I'm starting to get a little scared."
Jason glanced at her, concern etched on his face. "Hey, it's okay," he reassured her, his voice gentle. "I've got you. You're safe with me."
Piper managed a weak smile, but the fear still lingered in her eyes. "Just promise me you won't drop me," she joked, attempting to lighten the mood.
Jason chuckled, squeezing her hand reassuringly. "I promise, Piper. I won't let anything happen to you."
Feeling a surge of courage, Piper playfully punched Jason in the arm, her fear momentarily forgotten. "You better not," she teased, a hint of laughter in her voice. "Or else I'll have to haunt you from beyond the grave."
Jason grinned, his heart swelling with love for the spirited girl beside him. "Deal," he replied, his voice filled with warmth.
As they continued to soar through the sky, Piper's fear gradually subsided, replaced by a sense of wonder and awe. And in that moment, as they flew hand in hand through the clouds, Piper knew that she was exactly where she was meant to be.
As they sat together on the cloud, basking in the glow of the setting sun, Jason took a deep breath, steeling himself for the moment he had been waiting for. He turned to Piper, his eyes filled with love and determination.
"Piper," he began, his voice steady despite the rapid beating of his heart. "There's something I've been wanting to ask you."
Piper turned to him, her eyes filled with anticipation. "What is it, Jason?" she asked, her voice tinged with excitement.
Taking her hands in his own, Jason looked deep into her eyes, his gaze unwavering. "Will you be my date to Camp Half-Blood's prom?" he asked, his voice filled with sincerity and affection.
Piper's breath caught in her throat, her heart swelling with emotion. Tears welled up in her eyes as she nodded, unable to find words to express the overwhelming joy she felt in that moment.
"Oh, Jason," she whispered, her voice choked with tears. "Yes, yes, a thousand times yes."
With tears of happiness streaming down her cheeks, Piper threw her arms around Jason, holding him close as if never wanting to let go. In that moment, surrounded by the beauty of the heavens, they knew that their love was as boundless as the sky above.
As they held each other close, watching the sun dip below the horizon, they knew that their journey together was just beginning. And as they gazed into each other's eyes, they knew that their love would carry them through whatever challenges lay ahead.
