I can't stop trembling, looking at the letter in my hands, with such a beautiful and elegant handwriting, it's from my dear brother....

"Nick... Are you all right?" Eddie asks gently: "Do you want me to look for Theodor?"

After the shock I suffered when I saw my brother's letter, we both returned to the room with the gifts, where I collapsed on a sofa, opening the envelope and taking the letter inside, although I couldn't read it, remaining static in front of that paper...

Still in disbelief.

"No, I... Can you do me a favor? Can you read the letter for me? I'm not good at reading..."

"Are you sure? I think it's something quite private, maybe we should look for Theo?"

"I can't wait any longer Eddie, please read the letter for me."

I think Eddie wants to refuse again, maybe I put him in an awkward position with everything that happened. But at my pleas Eddie finally sighs, sitting down next to me on the couch, taking the letter from my hands.

"All right, but you will have to defend me from Theodor when he wants to kill me for this" Eddie asks me after a long sigh, getting ready to begin: "My dear Nicholas, it is a relief to know that you are safe after your terrible incident with those terrible kidnappers they talk about in the news, all my prayers are with you and your alpha, Mr. Theodor Gold."

I can't help but feel surprised, since it's a rather cold letter, I don't feel any affection in my brother's words....

"I hope your health improves, and that you have a prosperous pregnancy, giving many alpha children to the Gold family. As I told your alpha when he came to see me a few days ago..." Says Eddie stopping reading suddenly: "Theo went to see your brother?"

"Theo went to see him?"

"I don't know, he didn't tell you anything?" Asked Eddie as surprised as I was, receiving a negative answer from me: "How strange, we didn't receive any calls or other letters from the other people in your family, not even from those in other cities, we thought they had cut off contact completely, I had no idea that Theo contacted your brother?"

Why didn't Theo tell me he found my brother? How long ago did he find him? Is this some kind of his usual surprises for me?

"As I told your alpha when he came to see me a few days ago, unfortunately I am unable to visit you at the hospital or your new home due to my current situation, having to stay at the Walker family villa to maintain my situation" Eddie continues reading: "However, after having asked the alpha heir of the Walker family, you are allowed to visit me at any time when your condition improves. There is a stony silence after Eddie finishes reading the letter, while I am still trying to process what is going on. The person who wrote the letter doesn't sound like my brother...

"I didn't ask about him" I say in a whisper.

"Micha and my father, Otto... I didn't ask about him."

My heart is breaking into pieces, I had waited so eagerly to hear from my brother, believing that he was the same kind person I saw 13 years ago, believing in his love...

But this person doesn't look like my brother, it's not Otto. My brother, my adored older brother, would have worried about Micha, would have asked about Dad, would have come to see me in the hospital no matter what...
