Chapter 18.

Theo's family was somewhat peculiar....

Theo's parents, an alpha male and an omega female, had two children, both of whom were only omegas; and they also cared for one of Theo's cousins, who was also an omega, as one of their children.

"It is not strange for a family to have more omegas than alphas, I think what is strange is to have more than one alpha in a family" Theo explained to me when he told me about his family before coming here.

In proportion, of the total of the entire population, about 70% are all betas, then the omegas are 15 or 20%, and the rest are alphas. I guess this is because alphas can only be born from omegas, so taking into account that omegas are already few, alphas are a real rarity.

And among all the oddities, my alpha stands out as the most important of all, a dominant alpha, which is why Theo is so important...

Going back to the Gold family, Theo's siblings are 3, the oldest being Faith, that evil omega who made me cry the other day, who is a year younger than Theo, and is the most "sought after" single omega of the generation. Then we have James, who is actually Theo's cousin, and is already engaged. And finally Eddie, the younger brother who is my age, and arguably the least desirable omega of all the bachelors.

After arriving at the mansion, seeing how dazed I was, Theo's parents took us somewhere a little more private, where we could "talk."

"Nick, I'm so sorry, everything that happened to you was my fault, because I couldn't be a good mother" Says Theo's mother, hugging me tightly: "But I will never let anyone hurt you again! I will protect you and my grandson like a lion from now on!"

"Don't worry Mrs. Gold..." I answer in a whisper, glancing sideways at my alpha.

Something I discovered in the few minutes I spent in this place is that the Golds are quite effusive, Theo's parents have given me lots of hugs since I arrived, and that makes me feel a little strange... People usually don't approach me to give me affection, this is weird.

"For mom, Nick needs to rest a bit, his ankle hasn't healed yet" Theo interjects, seeing how scared I am.

"Of course, I forgot for a second, come with me Nick" Mrs. Gold asks me, releasing her tight embrace to take my hands and lead me slowly to a nearby couch.

"I'll order some tea, Nick needs to regain his strength" Mr. Gold interjected, looking very concerned for a moment.

We are in a private tea room, full of beautiful paintings and sculptures, with a couple of sofas around to admire the show. It looked to me like a museum or an art showroom, it is a very beautiful place.

Following Theo's mom, I sit on one of the couches next to my alpha, being quickly surrounded by all the rest of the family except for Faith, and they were all asking me if I was feeling okay and how my baby was doing. Although Theo was trying to reassure them, understanding that I needed my space, his family kept touching me and asking questions, I don't think they would calm down in a while.

"I love the way your engagement ring looks on you" Says Mrs. Gold, taking my left hand gently: "It's the family heirloom, all the main Gold heirs give them to their husbands."

With those words Faith lets out a grunt, standing away from me, across the room.

"Principal heirs?" I asked somewhat confused.

"The firstborn alpha heir of the family inherits everything, in this case that is Theodor, you must be excited..."

Somewhat confused, I turn to see Theo, who doesn't have a good countenance, making a face, he seems to be not so happy about his family's attitudes towards me.
