"Long live the Queen."
•~
It was an awfully quiet morning within the walls of Venice.
It's occupants were steadily threading though it's streets. Drowning within the beauty of the early morning, bustling with worry and the burden of responsibility as they threaded towards their daily lives as quiet as mice. And whilst the heart of the city was still waking, the outskirts had been loud for hours before dawn fell upon them.
Within the Accardo household music could be heard. Servants rushing around, laughter and song slipping from their mouths as they prepped the family home for the long awaited return of their darling Queen.
Tables and cloths of the finest silk were placed within the comfort of the mansions walls, as well as the surrounding area in which the young Queen and her mother could be found whilst they discussed the upcoming event of the day, and one Eloisa had awaiting for her in the town of Mystic Falls.
Covering from the sun under the shade of the trees, the two women shared laughs as Eloisa excitedly told her about everything that had been done to that very day, informally introducing her to some of the most important people in her life.
And the one she would share the rest of it with.
"It all looks lovely darling, and I'm sure Caroline and Rebekah won't let anything out of their sight in your absence."
Eloisa chuckled, shaking her head in response as she placed the cup of steaming hot coffee to her mouth "No, I don't doubt that at all."
"Have the invitations been sent out yet?"
"Well, we don't have many to send them out to, all the people we want there have already been invited."
"You have more family now, Eloisa! You must make the invitations as soon as you arrive, or we could do it from here, invite all of our relatives. I do believe they'd be more than delighted."
Eloisa merely nodded, her smile barely showing and the light that was always dancing across her features could now only be seen in traces.
She missed Niklaus, dearly. They talked, and she could always feel him throughout the day, reaching through their bond. But nothing could replace the feeling of him standing right next to her, at the very least holding her hand.
He was doing everything to his best possibilities to make up for his shortcomings. Taking slow and sure steps despite her bitterness as his words still hung over her head. Every time she shut her eyes she could hear the piercing voice of the love of her life and the betrayal that slipped with it.
Eloisa tried her very best, opening her heart bit by bit, allowing him to take the closest steps to her as much as she could. But she was not a miracle worker, and his words could never be erased from the depths of her soul where they etched themselves.
