Dazai wont die when BSD ends. It would completely undercut literally EVERYTHING the manga stands for. In terms of storytelling, that'd be a stupid move and I have faith in Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa.
Asagiri cried for days when he killed off Oda out of necessity in the Dark Era light novel. If he mourned that much for a side character, he'd be devastated if Dazai, who has literally been there since Chapter 1, dies.
It also wouldnt make sense to have Dazai dead in both the canonverse AU *and* the Beast AU. Kafka Asagiri doesnt just kill off characters for the hell of it and he wouldnt do that to Dazai. I cant emphasize enough how thatd be just Bad Storytelling.
Dazai is fundamentally a hopeful character, as I said before. If he dies, youre not just killing him off. Youre setting your story on fire and reducing everything youve written about humanity, about loss, about love and hope and redemption — all of it'll be dust. Any writer knows that.
I'll shut up after this because I don't want to write another 1500 words but literally any counter argument someone can give me that goes against what I said, Ill fight it tenfold with literary theory and basic logic.
