Gotham Press Hijacked - An Unknown Threat Lurks In The Shadows, Churning Out Fake News 

Yesterday’s edition of the Gotham Daily was a havoc and we will tell you why. The original copies of the newspaper were swapped with these near-identical editions featuring outlandish articles. If you were reading the paper and thinking what the hell we were high on when we wrote it, then worry not; none of the articles posted there were true nor were they approved by our team.

Gotham Daily was hijacked, and all our editions for Monday morning’s news were swapped with fake versions of the newspaper. Even the e-newsletter was hacked to display the fake copy, and we are at odds with how this occurred. Everything displayed on our platform yesterday was the work of the hijackers and not our talented reporters.

Gotham Daily is actively investigating the issue behind the fake edition release and trying to ensure that no such thing happens again. The thought of such a trusted news agency bring hijacked so easily is alarming, we know, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused to our loyal readers by reading articles that were so bizarre and far from reality.

According to our investigation, apparently, a team of masked individuals broke into the printing press where the morning’s paper was being printed and hijacked the setup. Our source, a security guard at the printing facility, states that he only saw a flash of black before he was knocked out. The precision and speed with which the whole task of swapping the printed copies was executed and how similar the editions were kept to our trusted format can only suggest that it was a preplanned attack organized by a highly trained group. 

We are working to get to the bottom of the mystery behind the identity of this group and why they had targeted Gotham Daily. Is it the work of a rival news agency or a starting act in the planned chronicles of a news hating criminal group? Worry not, we will keep you informed every step of the way.

Once again, we assure you that every word published in that edition was false and written without our knowledge. Gotham Daily considers its teams to be valuable assets and will never post false rumors about them. Editor-in-chief Stella Harbor would like to add that she is not a vampire; she hasn’t even touched meat in a decade and is committed to a strictly vegetarian lifestyle. Similarly, our lead reporter and observer section executive, Martin Douglas, is in no way associated with any questionable criminal groups nor has he been taking any bribes to cover false stories. Trust me, we would know if he was going behind our backs to orchestrate something. He is an honest citizen, working hard to survive in a city as dangerous as Gotham.

The identity and motive of the hijacker group are still unknown. Still, some experts suspect that it could be a cyber attack orchestrated by one of Gotham's many enemies, such as the Joker, the Penguin, or the Riddler. We are not pointing any fingers, mind you, it is just an assumption until the case can clear up. Others speculate that it could be an inside job by a disgruntled or corrupted employee of Gotham Daily, who may have access to the system and the credentials. We are looking into that as well but we trust our team to be loyal to the paper and can assure you this couldn't be the work of anyone associated with our agency.

However, in the light of this alarming threat where news agencies can be taken over and editions can be hijacked, we humbly ask our readers to stay vigilant.

The citizens of Gotham are advised to stay calm and informed and to rely only on verified and reliable news sources. They are also encouraged to support and trust Gotham Daily, which has been a pillar of the community for decades and has always delivered accurate and unbiased news.

We will see you soon with another article informing you about our progress on the investigation for uncovering the hijacking group. Until then, the Observer section will not post any news and we trust you understand our situation and cooperate with us. Ensuring our team's safety and privacy is our utmost objective and until all the rumors are cleared up and the people responsible for this atrocity are caught, Gotham Daily will continue to investigate the matter.

We extend our deepest condolences to anyone harmed by the content of our paper either in this fake edition or the ones prior. Our motive is to keep the public informed and we try to do so without causing any damage. Still if we have published anything in the past that was hurtful, we apologize for that and assure you that we are working to make this paper a more friendly and trustworthy space.

And to the group who orchestrated this attack, if you are reading this, we want you to reveal your motives directly and request you to not mess with our daily publication. If there's anything we've done to ensue your response, let our team know in person and not through childish tactics of hijacking the news itself.

We hope such an incident wouldn't happen again and are going to take all the steps necessary to prevent it. Until then, the citizens of Gotham, stay informed, and trust only the reliable news sources.

The story is going to get a lot more interesting from next chapter onwards because if you guys have seen the graphic I made for Act II you will already have a good enough guess on what I'm planning. Our lovely Waynes better be ready for a threat even greater than the Gotham Press (I can literally not hold in my excitement because we are finally getting to the reason I decided to write a Bruce Wayne fic). Any guesses on what is in store for you?
