during your time here on glacis, days can be unpredictable, you're either sent out with skye on a mission for whatever reason for days at a time, or just stand around the base, not doing much, and simply chatting up some of the other regulars of the citadel. even so, you would see skye leaving the citadel all by herself almost half the days, mostly without even saying a word to you or anyone else. you felt like the two of you are already acquainted when you've been sent out more on other missions. at first, you knew her as that cold, distant fixer, who is most used to working alone... though through your conversations with her, gave you a feeling. a feeling that there was a warm side underneath that thick layer of ice. you feel like you knew she wasn't always this way. when you tried to ask her about it, she would become defensive, even borderline become aggressive if you didn't drop the subject.
one of these days, you felt the need of trying to find out for yourself, despite knowing that she might just be aggravated for possibly prying into her past. at around every time during daybreak, she would speed off the citadel using a snowmobile from the rangers. but this time, you trailed behind her, out of her sight. the location she was heading to wasn't that far off. the sky was a medium gray, in a gloomy mood itself, unsure of whether it should snow, but you could feel it that it's on the brink. following skye's trail lead to someplace off the road of any other known supply routes in the region, which was actually intriguing. It lead to a hill, facing a beautiful landscape of the snowy fields below in the direction of the dusk. on the top stood a large, singular tree draped in snow, akin to pine and compared to the average trees that form up some of the nearby forests, stood taller than the rest, claiming this place as its own.
that being said, you have reached the destination, but decided to stop the snowmobile a little far off before tracking the trail skye left behind with her vehicle. as you neared the top of the hill, you see the fixer, who was sat down on her knees in front of the tree. though, her helmet was set down right beside her. you could see that slighly messy cyan-colored hair from behind. why was she kneeling down? just past her, you could see a well-kept spot underneath the tree, though it had special carvings on the wood, as well as a few trinkets beside the spot ensured that the snow wouldn't bury these items. but that's when it clicked.
it was a grave. that's why skye was leaving every once in a while. to pay her respects. it seems like she hasn't noticed you just yet.
you...?
