After the weekend flew like a cannonball, Erika was yet again heading to the office feeling a little awkward about what transpired to the conversation that happened between Noel and her. His unintended interest made her wary that she might have been giving out wrong signals towards him. She thought that the honesty was nice and that she appreciated his attraction towards her but having to go through such a horrible breakup with Elliott made her not want to rush things yet especially since relationships seem elusive to her.
She exhaled loudly and almost choked when out of nowhere Francis went inside the elevator with her. She roamed her eyes around and was even stunned to see na sila lamang dalawa ang nakasakay sa mga oras na iyon.
"A penny for your thought" he commented as he noticed the lines on her forehead, clearly showing her internal dilemma.
"Oh, sorry good morning po sir, hindi ko po kayo napansin" she honestly blurted.
He smiled flashing his deep dimples and once again, Erika felt a familiarity towards this man.
"Are you feeling okay though? Hindi na kita nakita sa bar a few hours after" he casually said.
Why? Did you look for me? She curiously thought.
"Ahhh opo, hindi din ako nagtagal. I felt dizzy maybe from the noise and the crowd" she uttered.
Tumango si Francis. "Well, have a good day at work" anito sabay lakad papalabas ng elevator.
Erika nodded in return and smiled at him. "Thank you, po sir, you too have a good day" she responded silently relieved that this conversation had ended.
Dali-dali ang kanyang lakad patungo sa kanyang station giving much space to the earlier encounter ng biglang napahinto siya ng makita ang nakangiting mukha ni Rolly while sitting comfortably on her table.
"Good morning po," she said.
"Erika! You are finally here; I was waiting for you" saad nito.
Curious about what was going on she raised her brow waiting for him to fill in the mystery.
"So, the boss was really happy about the outcome of our advertisement, there was significant traction in terms of sales after nang event... Kaya gusto niya na bigyan ng bonus ang team natin for the job that we did" he explained.
Gwapo na ang bait pa ng kanilang CEO. Erika thought to herself.
"So can you make a poll of activities kung ano ba ang gustong mangyari ng team. Pwedeng sigurong eat out or an overnight stay or kahit ano sa tingin mo ang kailangan ng nakararami." Saad nito.
"Hmmm, pwede bang parang like renting an entire place na may pool or dagat so it can be exclusive for the team at hindi din masyadong crowded? " She asked.
"Uy, parang maganda yan. Sige you can put that as recommendations mo then let's see what the team thinks. Can you give me the update on this before the day ends?"
"Sure, I'll do that" Erika replied firmly.
After Rolly was out of sight she immediately sat down on her chair and turned on her desktop, she listed down some of the recommendations she thought the team wanted and after finalizing five options she immediately pinged everyone in their office group chat so the rest could cast their votes. When all team members cast their preference, it was a landslide decision that everyone wanted an overnight stay in an exclusive resort. Erika smiled; it was exactly what she wanted too. She then made her way to Rolly's station and gave him the unanimous decision nang team.
He thanked her. "That was a quick turnaround thank you, I will head up and give this to the boss and see if he will approve the budget." Anito.
Erika nodded and silently hoped that Francis would make a sound decision to grant their request.
