"Francis, I'd like to go back to the beach house where you grew up... Do you think that's okay?" She suggested.
"Why do you want that all of a sudden?" He asked back.
"Things have been so hectic lately that I wanted to breathe and relax." She responded.
She planned to set up a stage that would facilitate an easier conversation with him, if his defenses are low and vulnerable he might be prone to better reasoning than focused on his hatred towards Dean.
"Sure, we can go there next week" he agreed.
"I am thinking tomorrow if you are not too busy?" Erika pressed on.
"Tomorrow? That's a little short notice." He paused. "Do you want to go?" He wanted to confirm.
"Yes" aniya.
"Okay, we can go there tomorrow and stay for one night. Would that be enough for you?" He concluded.
Erika broke a smile and embraced him. "Thank you, Francis."
Francis was astonished to see her affection and he smiled too while responding to her embrace. He then gave her a quick kiss on the lips.
The next day, they were strolling together in the shoreline while Francis was holding her hand. Bitbit naman sa kabilang kamay ni Erika ang kanyang tsinelas habang paika-ika ang kanyang lakad sa may buhangin.
"You should put that on, baka may mga basag na mga bote dito" Francis uttered referring to her slippers.
"But I want to feel the sand on my feet... it's glorious. You should try it" she recommended.
Nakangiting umiiling si Francis at hinayaan na lamang siyang nito sa kung ano man ang gusto niya.
She twirls herself around and stares at him in the eye. She cupped her face acting all cute and childish, while Francis was intently looking at her too.
"Thank you for indulging with me..." she whispered and immediately tip toed and kissed him on the lips. Her plan was a quick peck on the mouth, and it would be enough ngunit madaling hinagip ni Francis ang kanyang beywang at mas lalo pa nitong idiniin ang kanilang mga labi, deepening the kiss even more.
"Are you tempting me?" His rasped voice spoke, and Erika knew she was now walking on a dangerous path.
She smiled. "Not at all, that was a thank you kiss" Bigla siyang kumawala sa yakap nito and laughed as her toes dipped a little on the water.
"You will be punished later for teasing" he threatened, and Erika swallowed because she knew his words were true and a part of her felt a sudden throb between her legs remembering all the punishments, he could inflict on her.
She smiled awkwardly.
"Francis, I need to tell you something..." she uttered softly.
"Yes, how was the talk between you and Dean?" He went straight right in.
"About that..." she breathed. "He has given me an ultimatum. Be terminated or work under his wing" she tried to say as objectively as possible.
Biglang nandilim ang mukha ni Francis. "What did you say?" He probes.
Napailing na sumagot si Erika.
"I haven't given him an answer yet because I need to consult you about this" Aniya.
"But what do you want to happen then, Erika?" He clarified further.
She pursed her lips and thought about it. "I am not sure to be honest. But I don't want to lose this job too. However, I am wondering what the implications are if I'll work under Dean. I guess I wanted to know how you would feel about it." She said with transparency.
