hey pookies.
so funny story i didn't touch wattpad for the longest time until last night and started feeling so bad that i'd basically abandoned this story. but i didn't totally because it always lives in the back of my mind

i definitely did not need to read many of the chapters to get a feel for what i'd written nooooooo

ANYWAYS
lots of stuff has happened since the last update that contributes to why it's been so long (aka i started college) but i am back.

. . .

"She's missed you, y'know." Gilgamesh started after the two sat in silence for a moment. Talen's heart was already so full and warm, being back with Gilgamesh, that the thought of Thena missing her as much as she missed Thena made her concerned she'd explode. She couldn't help the smile that crept across her face.

"Where is she?"

Gilgamesh sighed. Clearly he wasn't telling her everything. The man started walking towards the only tree for a thousand miles. Beside it was a small fort-like structure, and a woman dressed in white.

The rest of the Eternals followed. As they got closer, the group could see the bones circling the base of the tree, and a few blowing in the wind as they hung from the dry branches.

"The attack triggered her. She's no fun to be around right now." Thena seemed to be scribbling something on a piece of tarp. "Hey, Thena. Look who's here." Gilgamesh knew the connection that Thena and Talen had. He had hope that, were she to do something, Talen's presence might be able to knock her out of the trance. "Give me your hand."

Before Thena stood up, her magic had created the staff she always used. She turned, feet planted in battle position, and swiped at Gilgamesh, but he simply blocked it with his hand.

"Everyone in Centuri-6 is going to die." Thena's eyes were completely white.

"Give me your hand."

"It's too late. We can't save them."

"Thena..." The woman raised her hand, but before she could do anything, Sprite conjured an illusion that encompassed the group. It was like they were in a large, green room. The ship.

"Thena. We came to Earth together on our ship," Sprite began working to break Thena's trance. The group watched as elegant gold pictures surrounded the red statue of a celestial in the middle. "You're an Eternal. The greatest warrior of Olympia." The gold pictures depicted Thena herself. They were beautiful manifestations of everyone's magic.

Everyone but Talen's.

"The legendary protector of Athens. The goddess of war. Remember who you are." Thena seemed to be remembering, but she wasn't out of the woods yet. Her weapons were gone. Gilgamesh looked for Talen, standing away from the rest so as to not mess anything up. He waved her over, and she quickly stood in from of Thena for the first time in centuries.

"Remember." Talen said, just above a whisper as she intertwined her hand with Thena's. It felt almost instantaneous for the rest. Thena's eyes were their normal grey again, and Sprite's illusion dissolved. Talen sighed.

Thena looked down at who it was that broke her out this time, since Gilgamesh wasn't directly in front of her. Talen looked up at Thena, eyes full of hope and admiration. She so desperately hoped that whatever was affecting Thena didn't take her memories of their time together.

For Thena, looking down at Talen was like looking at a ghost. She didn't say anything at first, not believing that she was real. Maybe the Deviant had gotten to her and this was whatever Afterlife Eternals get. Thena's shaky hand, adorned with a single gold ring, reached forward. Her hand was cold against Talen's face.
