Chapter 18

Jamie and the others were waiting for Ingrid and Julius. He sweared that Lottie won't have to go trough something like this again.

A black car stopped in front of them. Julius was the first one to get off. Looks like he was the driver. After a few seconds the back door opened and Ingrid got off. Julius walked over to her and picked Lottie up from where she was laying on the backseat, unconscious. They walked over to them so the two groups were face to face. Jamie said:

-Why is she unconscious?

Julius smirked.

-Calm down. She is sleeping. We gave her a sedative. The effect will pass in a few hours.

Ingrid said:

-You brought what we asked?

Jamie nodded. He showed her a contract.

-It has to be signed by the beneficiary.

Ingrid hesitated for a few seconds and walked over to the car opening the passanger's door. She said something to the man that was sitting there and took two steps back. He got off, walked over to them and said:

-I am the beneficiary.

Jamie handed to him the piece of paper. He whispered something to Julius and he put Lottie in Jamie's arms. Jamie said:

-It's done. Now you have it.

The man smirked and signed the paper. Julius and Ingird looked at each other and nodded. Jamie smirked and said:

-You should've read the clauses.

-What do you mean?

Right then, the royal guards appeared out of nowhere and arrested the three criminals. Everyone cheered and Jamie looked down at Lottie who was sleeping in his arms and smiled.

In the car, Jamie was driving and Ellie was sitting in the backseat, Lottie's head in her lap. She asked him:

-What were the clauses?

Jamie smiled and said:

-Like Saskia said, he was not a smart person so the title was exactly what he wanted to see. But if he bothered to read the clauses, he would've seen that the kingdom could be his if he didn't commit any crimes and if he did, he would get arrested.

Ellie laughed and said:

-I'm glad Lottie's back.

-Me too. And if you don't mind, from now on, she will share a room with me.

Ellie nodded and smirked.

-Only if you promise to be good.

-ELLIE!

They burst out laughing.

When they arrived at Rosewood, Jamie took Lottie in their new bedroom and placed her on the bed. He kissed her forehead and went to take a shower.

It was three in the morning when Lottie opened her eyes. She felt a pair of arms wrapped around her waist. Suddenly, she stood up breathing heavily. Jamie stood up and placed his hand on her shoulder.

-Lottie, calm down, baby. It's ok. You're safe now. It's done.

She freezed and  she turned around slowly, facing Jamie.

-Jamie?...Am I dreaming?

He smiled.

-I'm here, baby. You're not dreaming. 

She started crying.

-Oh, baby, come here.

He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her.

-Shh, it's ok. You're safe.

After a few hours, when she calmed down he told her everything. She said:

-I love you so much...

-I love you too, baby.

She smiled and kissed him.
