Chapter 7

At night. Ana came into her room after taking a shower and sat down at her study table. She opened her laptop and started to copy the pictures she took today from her phone. Then she checked those photos very keenly as she wasn't able to decide which picture she should choose for the school magazine. Sometimes later she chose a pic of the sunset and sent it to the school's email. Then Ana leaned back on her chair and started to scroll the photos randomly, but then she suddenly stopped when she saw the picture of Jungkook she took today. A smile appeared on her lips unknowingly. She looked at the picture and said in a soft tone, "Bunny."

Next day.
Ana went to the classroom and sat on her desk, waiting for Jungkook to come. Fortunately he came to the classroom just after Ana got there. They shared a glance at each other and gave wide smiles. He took his seat as the class was about to begun. Then the teacher came and started to call our names. Then she continued her lecture till the class came to end. She said, " The class ends today. Oh! And yes. We have two announcement to make. First as our school won the football match,so our school is now participating with schools of other cities. So best of luck to them. " The students clapped at this announcement and congratulated Jungkook as he really played well in the match.
Ana looked at Jungkook and gave him a thumbs up and Jungkook did the same to Ana.
The teacher spoke again, " And the 2nd one is... Ana, please stand up. "
This caught Ana off guard but she stood up with a nervous smile and the whole class looked at her. The teacher said, " We all know that, every year our school sends a list of scholars name to the best colleges and Universities of Abroad. Well, congratulate Ana as she got selected to study medicine abroad. "
Hearing this announcement Ana's smile dropped and she slowly looked at Jungkook. She found him looking at her. Then he weakly smiled at Ana and looked down.
The class got over as the teacher left and people started to congratulate them. In the gathering Ana urged to approach Jungkook, she wanted to talk to him, she didn't know what to say to him. She always had dreams of studying abroad, and now it's getting real. But she wasn't happy. But why? As she thought about these things, she could not get the answer to the question.
On the other hand, after hearing the news Jungkook mind got puzzled as he doesn't know what he should do know. Should he congratulate her? Should he stop her? But by what right? Even though people were talking to him his eyes were on her.
They didn't talk during the other classes. At the canteen they bumped into each other and got nervous and stood silent for some time. To break the awkward silent Jungkook spoke with a nervous chuckle, " Well. You are going to the abroad then. Congrats. "
Ana said in a little disappointing tone, "Same to you. Your team also going to play with schools of other city. Best of luck."
They remained silent for a moment before Jungkook spoke again, " So, when are you again?."
Ana said, " Well the teacher told me that they are sending me after the semister, at the month of March. But I am thinking of leaving one month early for my aunt's house. I really miss her. I think I should visit her now before going. "
He asked, " Do you have a plan of coming back? "
Ana looked down at this question and said nervously, " I.. I-I don't know. "
He looked at Ana joylessly and said, "I see."
Ana was about to say something when her phone rang. She looked at the phone and said, "Do-hee is calling me."
She looked at Jungkook. As soon as she picked up the phone Ana heard Do-hee crying. Ana asked with a concerned voice , " Dude everything is okay!? Why are you crying!?".
Do-hee yelled," Please come. I am scared!"
Ana asked, "What happend? Calm down first."
Jungkook looked at Ana worriedly and asked her to put the phone on speaker. Ana did as he told me.
Do-hee spoke again, "Mark came to my house. He was on drugs. I didn't open the door.He asked me for some money. But I refused. Then he started to yell at the door and left. I don't know what to do. I am scared please come. Ana."
Jungkook looked at me with a serious face and Ana spoke, " Don't worry. Stay at the house. We are coming. "
After that Ana ended the call and they took a cab for Jungkook's home.
Jungkook called the police and Ana told them everything, then he looked at her with a furious face and said," Now explain.What is happening? Who is Mark? Everything. "
Ana told him, "Mark is Do-hee's Boyfriend. Do-hee only told me that she was having some small fights with him nothing else...."
Even though he was angry he said in a low tone, " Why didn't she tell me that!? More specifically why did she tell you everything but said noting to me? "
Anger can be seen throug his voice even if he tried to stay calm. His voice and intesne gaze made Ana shiverd in fear. But she tried to speak but nothing came out from her mouth. Then Jungkook spoke again while looking at me intensely , "Why didn't you tell me?"
Ana said while stumbling with her words, " I... I-I am sorry. "
Jungkook looked away and said, " You should be. So do I as I did not understand my sister's situation. But you should have told me, it's not like we were fighting like before. I wasn't expecting this kind of behavior from you."
Ana looked down as she thought, " He is right. I should have told him about it. Even though Do-hee told me not to, she was suffering all the time and I didn't even intend to help her."
As guilt took over Ana, she sat there looking down until they reached Jungkook's house.
When they reached Jungkook's house they saw that the police was already there. As Do-hee saw Ana and Jungkook , she ran to us and hugged Ana tightly. Ana patted her head and said, " It's okay. We are here. The police is here. Everything is fine now. Let's go inside now. Calm down. "
The police filed a report against Mark for today's incident. During the day, Jungkook didn't even talk to Ana, as if he was ignoring Ana.
Ana understood the reason of his anger. At night, Ana also decided to stay at Jungkook's house.She was cooking dinner for three of us. Jungkook came and stood beside her and started to chop veggies. Ana looked at him and said, " I will do that. Go to Do-hee. Don't leave her alone. She must be scared by today's incident. "
As he didn't answer her, I sighed and started to wash the dishes. Then he spoke in a hummble tone, " Sorry for the behavior."
This got Ana off guard by this sudden apology.
Ana said, " Huh? ".
He spoke again while looking at her,"I shouldn't have talked to you like that. I got scared that time. I didn't know what to do. Please don't resend me...."
Before he could finish his words Ana hugged him immediately without thinking twice. He hugged Ana back instantly as he rested his left hand on her qhead, " I am not resending you. I will never do that. You don't know how much I got scared when you didn't talk to me the whole day. I thought you hate me now for my foolishness. "
"No! Never! How did you think that I will hate you? Promise me that you are not going to think anything like this again. I can't hate you. Nobody can hate a girl like you." he said with a worried tone.
Ana clutched onto the back of his t-shirt and snuggled her face into his chest to feel the warmth of his body before saying, " I won't. I promise. "
He said, " Good girl." and tightend His grip. They both were closing their eyes and hugging each other tightly as if they didn't want to drift apart. They stayed in the position for a few minutes as they forgot what was happening around them.
Do-hee's voice came from her room which was up stair, " Is the dinner ready? Actually I am kinda hungry. "
