Chapter 9

"Easy girl. It's me" Jungkook said while looking at Ana. Ana turned to Jungkook and said, " I have no problem. But what about Do-hee? "
He said, "Our home is like 5 minutes away from here. It's your house which is a little far away. That's why I asked if I could join you, till you reach your home."
Ana said, "Okay then. Come with me."
Then Ana and Jungkook started to walk along. There was silence between them until Jungkook spoke.
He said, "What about me?"
"Huh?"Ana asked him with confusion.
"I mean... Don't you gonna miss me? I know your answer could be 'no' but still."
Ana stopped walking and looked at him. Then she said, "And why do you think that I am not going to miss you?"
He raised his eyebrows and said, "So you are going to miss me?"
Ana said with a chuckle, "Yes! I mean why not? You were the most unexpected friend I ever got ."
He chuckled and stayed silent for sometime then looked down before he spoke, " I am sorry. "
This caught her off guard and Ana said, "Why all of a sudden?"
Jungkook said, "Well I guess it's time to say sorry and thank you as we don't know when we are going to see each other. I know I did and said stupid things to you before. It's kinda embarrassing that I used to fight with you. But look at us now, talking to each other like this . Time does change people."
Ana's heart wrenched at his comment but she said while controlling her emotions, "Hey don't say sorry. Rather we should
take it as a funny way. I mean few months ago we used to hate each other. But look at us now. To be frank I have never thought to become your friend like that. "
They both chuckled at her comment. Then she spoke again in a teasing tone," Promise me one thing Jungkook. When you will become a dad, tell your daughter that there was a friend of yours who kicked your ass in high school. "
Jungkook said, "No. I'm definately not going to tell them about this. I think you should tell them about it."
As they talked, they came in front of Ana's house. They stopped and Ana looked at Jungkook for a last time. Then Ana said, "I think that's it then."
Ana stayed silent for a few times, then she spoke again, " It was nice meeting you Jungkook. If I ever come back, I swear I am going to visit you and Do-hee. I will miss you guys."
Jungkook nodded at my comment with a weak smile. As Ana was about to enter the house he called her name. Ana looked back at him eagerly as she was waiting for him to do something like this. Then he spoke again, "Well.. I-I ...".
"You want to tell me something?" Ana asked with excitement .
" Well.. I-I will let you know if the school magazine gets publish in February. "
With that being said, the glow in Ana's eyes vanished and she said with a weak smile, "Good bye Jungkook. All the best for your game. And Good night."
Ana said that and went inside her house, she didn't even look back cause she knew that if she looked back, then she was going to do something that she would regret later.
As Jungkook saw Ana getting into her house he sighed and left the place.
At Jungkook's House.
As he came in, Do-hee came and said with a serious tone, "Did you tell her?"
This caught Jungkook a little off guard. But he managed to say with a chuckle , "What are you talking about?".
Do-hee said again with a serious tone,"Didn't you tell her about your feelings?". Jungkook got shocked as she had the knowledge about his feelings towards Ana. But he said sharply ,"What the hell are you talking about?"
Do-hee now yelled at him, "I am your sister Jungkook! You can hide it from people, but you can't hide it from me! Even if you stay silent about it! Why didn't you tell her? Don't you like her?" She said the last two sentence with empathetic tone.
Jungkook immediately said, " I love her Do-hee. I love her very much.But... "
Do-hee asked with excitement in her voice, "But what!?"
"It didn't feel right to tell her about my feelings. I mean what if she doesn't like me? And this time is very important for her . I can't destroy it by saying those rubbish feelings that I got a few days ago. "
Do-hee spoke again but in concerned voice, "I can talk to her about that... "
Jungkook yelled, "No!"
Even before Do-hee can finish her sentence. Then he spoke again, " I can't tell her anything like that. I can't destroy her career for the sake of a few weeks of attraction. "
Do-hee said, " How can you say that it's just one sided or it's attraction when you didn't even talk to her about your feelings. What if she feels same for you!? "
"She doesn't." Jungkook said in a cold tone. Then he spoke again,"Do-hee, please don't talk about it again. I don't want to discuss this again. I don't have any energy to talk about this." Saying that Jungkook went to his room.
As days passed by Jungkook and Ana started to talk less. Soon The month of February came. One day Jungkook went to school just like other days. At the break time Jungkook was going through the hallway when he suddenly heard a familiar voice calling out his name from behind. He looked back and saw Ana standing behind him with a warm smile. Jungkook got confused about her presence but still managed to speak," Hey! Long time, no see. I thought you left. What are you doing here?"
Ana said," I came to take the Transfer Certificate with me. And yes How did you think that I am going to leave you guys without Saying Goodbye? "
Jungkook said nothing but smiled and looked down. Then Ana spoke again,"Well I am going to my aunt's house on the 18th Feb."
Ana sighed after finishing her statment.
Jungkook looked at her and said with an act of excitement , "Wow, what a coincidence! We are going for the match on the same day. Well have an advance safe journey then ."
Ana gave him a smile and said, " And best of luck with your game. I hope we are going to cross paths someday. "
Jungkook answered desperately looking into Ana's eyes but doesn't want to make it obvious , " I hope so."
Saying this they went in their own way again.
As the day of the match came, Jungkook was sitting on a bench, outside the school, wearing his jersey . Jungkook couldn't help but think about Ana. He really wanted to say bye and all those things he felt for her but it's late now. All those things were going in his mind when Do-hee called him from behind. Do-hee came to him with an excited face. She said, " I think you really need to see it. "
Then she handed him a magazine, which was none other than the school magazine.
"It was published yesterday." Do-hee spoke.
Jungkook's eyes got widened when he saw that it was his picture at the cover of the magazine. He realized that this photo was taken by Ana at the sunset that day. But he didn't know that she took a picture of him. Jungkook eyes got teary as he continued to look at the picture.

Then Do-Hee said, " Do you still think that she doesn't have any feelings for you!? ".
As Jungkook mind got puzzled he didn't understand what to do or say. He stood there like a statue for sometime. Then Do-hee spoke again,"Don't stand there like a statue! Go to her! Even though I can't reach her, it's not too late. Just give it a try! Please!"
Hearing this, Jungkook said, "But what about the match? They aren't going to allow me to leave like that."
"And who said that?" A known voice came from behind and when Jungkook looked back, he saw His football team's coach standing behind him. The coach said, "Do-hee told me everything. It's okay. You can join at the second half of the game. Now go! Don't waste time!" As soon as Jungkook received his coach's order, he went out from the school area and took a cab. He asked the cab driver to drive to the train station where Ana was getting her train. 15 minutes later, Jungkook came in front of the train station. He hurriedly went inside the station and asked at the ticket counter if the train to Osong Station left. Unfortunately he came to know that the train for the Osong station left a few minutes ago. Drenched in sweat , Jungkook sat down on a bench of the station with a broken heart.
He was looking down when he saw a familiar figure standing at the opposite station. He looked at the figure which was none other than Ana. Ana was looking at him with shock. As soon as Jungkook saw her, he stood up and ran to the opposite platform. As they stood in a little distance from each other, they didn't know, what to say or do. Then Ana spoke with a concerned tone ,"Jungkook. What are you doing here? What about your match? "
Jungkook came a little closer to her to cover up the distance between them and said, "What about you? Why did you miss the train?"
Ana didn't say anything, she looked at the ground after hearing Jungkook's counter question.
Jungkook again came a little closer and showed her the school magazine. Ana saw the magazine in Jungkook's hand and went dumpfounded. As she came a little close to Jungkook. She said with tears in her eyes , "How did you...?"
He said in a soft tone, "Why Ana? Why didn't you tell me? "
She said with a crack in her tone," I don't know."
Saying this she hugged Jungkook tightly and started to cry like a baby. On the other hand Jungkook hugged her back immediately and started to cry . As they both hugged each other and cried out loud, it felt like something was melting there, which was frozen for many time. While hugging Ana, Jungkook spoke in a cracked voice, " I hate you. I hate you, Ana. "
Ana said, "So do I . I hate you too. I hate you more." Then Jungkook kissed on Ana's forhead. Ana looked at him while whipping her eyes like a baby, Jungkook said, " What about the train? You think you're gonna get another train today ? "
"No, not today, it's okay. I am gonna tell my parents that I was late due to traffic so I missed the train." I said.
Jungkook chuckled at her answer and said, " If that's so. Let's go to the match and cheer for us. Cheer for me then. "
" Why not? " Ana said with a smile even my eyes were teary.
