It was a cold winter morning and a boy had woken up from his deep slumber by his phone ringing. He got up to answer the phone. "Hello hao"the person on the other line said. The boy froze.
Xu minghao POV:
I was woken up from my sleep by my phone ringing none stop. I got up to answer the phone. It was an unknown number. I picked up the phone " Hello hao" the person said I froze. It was a voice I remember so vividly. It was none other than Wen junhui, my best friend aka crush. It's been years since I've last talked to him...

4 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 ago~
December 24th 2017
It was a snowy morning, and winter break so we don't have school. I have a lot of plans today well mostly my friends plans and I'm getting dragged into them, but it doesn't matter at least I don't have to spend the holidays alone I guess. My parents are away from home for the holidays and I'm all alone. I went down to the kitchen and make myself a cup of warm coffee, I drank the coffee while scrolling through Instagram then I saw 𝘩𝘪𝘴 post, I hearted it immediately. It was my best friend junnie's post. He looked so handsome and cute, no wonder many girls and even guys fall for him. And I'm one of the people that likes him no I love him. I've had loved him since 2nd grade which was a long time ago and now I'm in my 3rd year at high school. All of our friends knew abt my crush on jun, but I told them not to tell him. I finished my coffee and looked at the clock it was 8:38 a.m and my friends are going to come and pick me up at 9 so I went back to my room to change...... I wore a cream colored sweater, black jeans, a gray coat with white converse. It was 8:52 so I still got time before the hangout so I went to sit at my couch. I went through my phone and saw the photos I took with my friends and jun. Then one photo caught my attention
I took this pic with jun at the new art gallery opening we had a fun time. We would talk abt the art pieces while making jokes and giggling to ourselves while other people look at us like we're crazy. We hung out at the gallery till night time then we walked under the moon light. The moonlight shown on his face made him look so ethereal. We were walking and talking about random things along the way. We were having so much fun... Then the doorbell rang I was snapped out of my flashback . I walked towards the door and saw my friends waiting there with small smiles on their faces. I looked at them with a confused face bc why are they looking sad while it's supposed to be a fun day. Then mingyu spoke up making me snap out of my confusion "Are you going to let us in or let us stand in the freezing cold? " "sorry yeah come in guys" I said moving aside to let them in. Our friend group has 13 members including me. So it's mostly chaotic. There's also couples in the group Jeongcheol the parents of the group, Seoksoo, Soonhoon, Meanie, Verkwan, me, jun and chan are the only ones that are single sometimes we get annoyed by the couples lovey dovey actions. We sat down at the living room the tension still in the air. Then soon young hyung said "so.... we're going to the café and then we'll... " I got distracted when I looked at jun, his hand some features like his define jawline, beautiful eyes, soft pink lips... "Hao Hao Hao HAO! " I was startled by soon young hyung yelling my name "y-yeah? " I replied " did you hear what I just said? " I nodded my head slowly I wasn't paying attention at all. "Good, so let's get going" he said. We all got up and made our way to the door then we walked to the café which wasn't too far it was like a 10 minute walk. We were chatting along the way. Then we arrived at the café we placed our orders then we sat down at a big table. We were talking until the waiter came up and give us our food, we ate and continued talking. We finished our food. We walked out the café we were going towards the cinema. We were going to watch the new Christmas movie. We got to the cinema and watched the movie. It was abt 12 so we decided to get some food then head to jeonghan hyung house. We bought pizza, pasta, burgers, fries and coke. We made our way towards jeonghan hyung house. When we got there we say down in the living room and ate our food. We decided to go to the Christmas fair at 6 p. m. So we just ended up playing games, watching movies and talking enjoying each other's company. Then we all started to fall asleep. I then dosed off not so long after my head rested on juns shoulder.... I then woke up to the sound of jun waking me up"Hao get up its 5:31pm we're going to leave soon" I then opened my eyes and saw how close our faces were I blushed then sat up straight replying with a "o-ok". He then smiled at me and helped me up. The others were already awake. Then seungcheol said " great! now that everyone is awake let's get going " then we all went out. We made our way towards the fair. It was so bright and festive, a lot of people walking, playing and chatting. A lot of couples too. When we got near to where the games the others went to play with the lovers. So me and jun were left all alone. "What do you wanna do Hao? " he suddenly asked me "uhh idk, umm maybe play some games..? " I replied. He then smiled at me "ok then let's go"he then grabbed my hand. I blushed at the contact but he didn't see it. He continued to drag me until we stopped in front of a game shop where you have to throw darts at the balloons to win a prize. I then noticed a big kermit plush in the prizes. My face lit up when I saw it and jun seemed to notice it too " do you want that Hao?" he said pointing at the doll. I nodded my head aggressively. He then chuckled. He then paid the man and started to throw darts at the balloons. He won the game "can I get the Kermit plush" he asked the man. The man nodded and grabbed the doll. "You two look like a nice couple" the man and smiled I blushed, "thank you sir ig we are" jun said smiling I was shocked. We then walked away from the man. "Why did you say that? " I asked him. "No reason, why? don't you like it? " he suddenly asked me. "U-u-uh may-be" I mentally facepalmed myself for stuttering. He then laughed. We continued to walk and play more games. It has been 2-3 hours and I started to get tired. Jun noticed it "are you already tired Hao? " he asked me and I nodded. He then grabbed my hand and flashed his infamous smile. "Let's go to the park crowded, its not crowded at this time and it's beautiful at night". I felt my face heat up and felt sparks at the contact.
Even though this is not the first time we had physical contact it never fails to make me blush and have butterflies in my stomach. We made our way towards the park feeling the cold winter breeze brush against our skin. We made it to the park walking in comfortable silence. " Hao... "Jun suddenly said " hmm? "I hummed as a response. " uhmm" I saw him hesitating to speak. "Uhmm I don't know how to say this but... I-i lo-ve u. " I was shocked by what he said. "I've had loved u since the first day I saw you you could say it was love at first sight and I won't deny it. I felt things I've never felt with others. I felt happy whenever I'm with you and sad and empty when you're not around. At first I thought it was just a small crush but the feelings kept on growing. I tried to stop the feelings cause I thought u would never love me back. I love you Hao and will continue on loving you forever and I'm sure of that. And I understand if you don't love me back I just wanted you to kno-" "I love you too" I interrupted him. "W-what? " "I said I love you too idiot" he then kissed my under the moonlight. It felt so great having his lips on mine. The kiss was passionate and full of love. He then pulled away looking sad "what's wrong? " I asked "uhmm hao that's not the only thing I wanted to tell you" I nodded slowly getting nervous abt what he wanted to say"uhmm I leaving to China tomorrow.. " I was shocked to hear that. I felt tears swelled up my eyes and my mind went blank. "W-why? " I asked my voice breaking. "My parents are making me go back for my studies.. I'm sorry Hao that I confessed late. I'm really sorry" he said with tears in his eyes and sadness in his voice. "W-when are y-you leavin-ng? " I asked. "Tomorrow morning at 5 am" I cried even more. " I'll be t-there to say goodb-ye" he nodded and we kissed once more but it was filled with sadness.
𝘍𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨
It was already 4:24 am and not so long before jun leaves for china. We were at the airport with all of our friends. We were crying. It was almost time for jun to board the plane. "Hey Hao..? " "yes junnie!? " "promise me that you'll never forget me and will always continue to love me" he said. It broke my heart that he was leaving but we can't do anything about it. "Of c-course. I will always love and remember you. Promise me that we'll still be in contact". He nodded and we kissed one last time. Then he went to the gate to board his plane waving at us as a goodbye then he went on the plane. We went back to our homes and I broke down crying. The emptiness and pain filling me. But I need to accept it. I need to accept the fact that jun is not always going to be there. And I have to continue on with my life but I'll still love him.

" hey Hao? You ok? " he asked "huh? Oh yeah I'm fine" "ok.. " then silence. " so Hao I was wondering if we could meet at the café near your house at 8:30 am." "Hmm ok" "ok then I'll see you later I guess" "imm" then he hung up. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I looked at the time and saw it was 7:57am. So I hurriedly got up, took a shower and wore my clothes.

By the time I finished changing it was already 8:16 . So I made my way towards the door and locked it before leaving. I walked the familiar path to the café. I walked in and saw a familiar figure at one of the tables. I walked up to the table. "Hey... Jun" I said awkwardly. "Hey Hao " he greeted back as I sat down. It was a silent for a couple of minutes then he spoke up " it's been so long hasn't it? How are you? " "I'm fine and yeah it been abt what 4 years? " " wow that's so long" we continued to talk after that. Then we payed and left the café. We decided to hang out at my house. We were walking until he grabbed my hand and interwind his fingers with mine. I blushed and he seemed to notice and chuckled. A few minutes later we made it to my house. " wow it's been a long time since I've been here. Nothing seemed to change a bit" he said. "Yeah I guess you could say that". We made our way into the living room and decided to watch some movies. He sat on the couch and signaled me to come then he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me next to him. After about a few hours of watching movies I heard snores. I looked next to me and saw Jun sleeping. I was also getting sleepy so I decided to sleep. ....
I was woken up by the sound of Jun calling my name " Hao Hao Hao get up" " huh what? "He chuckled and said "'come on I've got a surprise for you" . He grabbed my hand and took me to the same park we were 4 years ago. It was already night time and the memories came pouring in. I haven't come to this park for 4 years cause of the memories it held. "So Hao I need you to close your eyes" I was confused but I obeyed and closed my eyes. He then lead me somewhere. "Ok opennnn your eyesss now! " I opened my eyes and tears filled them. It was the same place jun confessed to me but there was a table with candles on top of it and fairy lights and flowers surrounding it. It was beautiful. Jun then stood in front with me with a bouquet in his hands. Tears fell down my face. "Well come on Hao let's have dinner" he took my hand and lead me to the table. It was snowing but it was just a little so it made it more beautiful.We then ate in comfortable silence. When we finished eating "the moon is very beautiful tonight" "yeah it is" "Hao remember what I said 4 years ago at this same spot" I nodded. "And remember how I said I love you and will always continue to love you" I nodded. "And it's true I still love and I never stopped and I missed you alot" I went silent. He looked at me worried "hey Hao you ok? " I looked at him in the eyes and asked "if you missed me why didn't you call or text me...? " the last wasn't that audible but he still heard it "sorry Hao. I was busy with studies and I could never make time for people. I couldn't even make time for my parents. I'm sorry I really am". More tears fell down my face. "Oh ok then... " then it was silent. Until " so what's your answer? " "hmm? " "what's your answer do you still love me Hao? " I smiled at that and nodded. "Of course I still love you otherwise I wouldn't be missing you everyday and hoping you would text me" I said sarcastically. He laughed at me. Then he got up and made his way to my seat and pulled me up. He looked into my eyes and leaned closer. I also found myself leaning in. Then our lips connected. It felt amazing. The kiss was full of love and warmth. We pulled away after a few minutes to catch our breath. We both smiled and he put his forehead against mine while interwinding our hands. "I love you Hao" "I love you too junnie" then we both just stand there like that while the cold winter breeze brush against us the same way from 4 years ago. It was a great night. And I will never forget it.
