Gaz groaned to himself as he felt something shift in his arms, pressing up against him allowing warmth to flood his skin. He almost wanted to go straight back to sleep if it wasn't for his military mindset for waking up early as can be.

Gaz squinted his eyes and blinked, looking around Y/n's room groggily.

'Oh yeah...I stayed over last night.' Gaz hummed to himself with a yawn, before his breathe hitched from staring down at Y/n's form cuddled up next to him, 'When did they even move?? I didn't even hear or feel them next to me...'

Gaz continued to stare down at Y/n's seemingly peaceful expression, it was almost sinful with how serene they looked in this moment. Especially with how the slight beams of light cascaded down their face enlightening their features. It almost made Gaz envious how easy it was for Y/n to sleep.

Y/n groaned in their sleep, and Gaz froze thinking he had somehow woke them up. But fortunately for him, Y/n turned over to the other side. This allowed Gaz to become free from their hold and he quietly stood up.

He looked around for a moment, not knowing what his next move was.

"Crud..." Gaz tiptoed over Y/n's sleeping body to fish out his phone from the pack he brought. The light illuminated his face as he was immediately bombarded with text messages from Price, Ghost, Soap, and hell, even Laswell.

"...Shit..." Gaz groaned as he left the room to go downstairs, dialing Price's number. His feet tapped against the floor in anticipation as the phone rung.

It didn't take long for Price to answer.

"Sir. I sincerely apologize for-"

"Kyle Garrick." Price's firm voice interrupted Gaz, making the man bite his lip, shutting up immediately.

"We have been trying for hours to contact you without any response. Do you know how stressed we all are thinking your mission was somehow compromised and you've been killed??" Price lectured and Gaz tried to explain himself.

"Captain, I really am sorry I...I was trying to get more information and I fell asleep at Y/n's residence." Gaz lied, not daring to mention how he actually willingly stayed just to keep Y/n company.

"Without announcing it to your superior? Do you know how dangerous that can be Kyle?" Price used his actual name, which was a pretty good indication for Gaz that Price was really upset.

"Yes sir..." Gaz murmured embarrassed for his actions.

"This whole mission has caused you to mess up more than once. I need you to get your arse back to the hotel, with whatever information you have. Ghost and Soap are taking over until your head is cleared of whatever is distracting you. Understood?" Price sternly demanded.

"Wait- Price I-"

"Is that understood sergeant?" Price asked a little more firmly and Gaz clenched his fist to his side, before letting out an audible sigh.

"Understood Captain." Gaz exchanged a few more words before hanging up. Gaz leaned his head over the counter mumbling to himself how Price was right. He can't keep fucking up like this.

"I don't think I'll be able to just 'get rid' of whatever is distracting me when it's the person I'm supposed to be befriending for information..." Gaz grumbled as he threw his head back in exhaustion. His eyes subconsciously trailed to the upstairs, before he began to walk up it.

He said he had information. Well he lied. So in order to not be lectured and do agonizing drills for his lack of information again- he needs to find SOMETHING of importance.
