"So...You feel like you're dad is lying to you?" Gaz asked as gripped onto his cup of water, his food had been plated onto the table long ago but was discarded as Y/n was talking.
Since Y/n never got to eat their breakfast, they ordered something too. Pausing every so often to munch on the delicious tasting breakfast to satisfy their hunger.
"Yep...I asked him if he knew anything about that guy attacking me but he just- Froze up and disregarded my questions...then up and left in a hurry." Y/n sighed, recalling the moment that had happened not to long ago.
Gaz frowned heavily in deep thought about Y/n's words...Why was Piero so dismissive on the subject? Did he know something else that 141 wasn't seeing?? Everything was just not adding up...it was so mixed and jumbled.
Every time Gaz felt like he was making a jump forward closer to the truth...he was set all the way back to the beginning...So what is it that was the missing piece to this puzzle?
"I-I just hate that I'm being lied to..." Y/n sighed dejectedly, "I mean- Sure I'm not at all perfect. I've told a couple of white lies- But my dad and I share everything...I'm just...hurt..and I can't help but feel guilt about everything."
"Hey...It's not your fault Y/n...You have absolute no responsibility for what's happening." Gaz quickly interjected, making Y/n smile with flushed cheeks.
"Thanks Kyle...You always know what to say. I feel like I can trust you a lot you know?" Y/n chuckled and Gaz smiled tightly with a strain.
He felt sick...because unknown to you, he was just as bad as the lies your father told. Possibly even worse. Time and time again he's been told by not only by his team, but himself, that this was just inside job for gaining information.
But the more time Gaz had spent with Y/n, and how he got to know them better he found himself...enjoying Y/n's company a lot more than he wished.
He didn't mean for things to get this far, at all, and if he was in better circumstances he would be asking Y/n out...but with his work on the line and possibly millions of innocent lives- he needed to tread carefully from now on. He had to make sure that Y/n didn't feel anything for him other than what they had now.
Yet, his heart yearned for that companionship.
He's dated people before, but no one stuck to him. Either cheating, leaving, or just breaking up with him. Gaz learned to not care as much, but with Y/n, he genuinely wanted to see them safe and happy with him.
But that would be selfish from him...lying to them just for his own personal benefit. He felt like a scum. A no good dirty shame to the world. To Y/n...
"Kyle??" Y/n tapped on Gaz's hand and he flinched back. Drawing his hand away, surprising Y/n a bit.
"Sorry. I was thinking...Ive never had people say that to me. So it was a...surprise." Gaz lied, again, wincing at the words coming from his mouth.
"Really? That's...huh...Not even your friends??" Y/n furrowed their brows and Gaz bit his tongue.
"Well- They do. What I mean is that they don't tell me that a lot."
"Ohhh...I guess that makes sense." Y/n nodded their head, before looking out the glass window, "I haven't had much time for friends. So...having someone like you is a nice change of pace. I even think I'm getting Simon to like me!"
"Oh really?" Gaz chuckled at how excited Y/n looked.
"Yes. I am confident that we will become closer in no time." Y/n grinned confidently and Gaz couldn't help but think how cute they looked.
