Violet's Point of View
"Pick up, please just pick up," I mumbled while holding the phone to my ear.
I stayed seated in the car with Calum, Sidney, and Brooklyn outside of my parent's house. Just looking at the house angered me, but I told myself that I wouldn't let my anger get the better of me tonight.
Finally Luke had picked up his cellphone,
"Hey Violet, you guys here yet?"
"Yes, come open the door." I mumbled.
"Why didn't you just ring the doorbell?"
"Because I know mom would literally staple your asses to the couches just so she would be the one to open the front door," I replied in a "duh" tone.
He chuckled, "Okay I'll be there in a sec,"
I hung up and we all got out of the car. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Calum put Brooklyn's cellphone in his front pocket, and Brooklyn's angered facial expression. I snorted a bit to loudly and Brooklyn glared in my direction.
We waited in front of the door for about ten seconds until it finally opened and revealed Luke himself. He engulfed me into this bear hug and he kissed my forehead. Regardless of the fact that I didn't see him as much as I wanted, he was the best brother ever.
"I missed you Violet, you really need to come over more." He stated, until he makes eye contact with Sidney.
Sidney literally jumped into Luke's arms and that warmed my heart. Sidney always loved Luke ever since she was little, and it stayed like that ever since.
"Wow three minutes late. At least it's much better than last time," my mother stated in a sarcastic tone.
I turned around to see my mother standing in front of the door with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Nice to see you too mom," I snapped.
I felt a warm hand on my waist and instantly knew that it was indeed Calum. My stepdad had appeared and placed his arm on my mom's shoulder.
"Why don't we all come inside and join the others, hm?" my stepdad Andy had said and we all filed inside without another word.
"Viola!" Myra shrieked and ran to engulf me in a great hug.
"It's Violet, you mole rat." I whispered excitedly in her ear.
"Shut up you shit face," she whispered back and squeezed harder.
"Okay Violet, you could let go of my fiancé now," Luke grumbled.
I instantly let go and I could literally feel my eyes popping out.
"Fiancé?"
"Uh yeah?"
I began whacking Luke on his arm and he began shrieking. Arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me away from Luke.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I screamed out of excitement.
"That's why we called you here," Luke yelled back just as loud.
"If the both of you don't stop yelling, I'm sending you to your rooms," My mom yelled.
I shut up instantly and began fiddling with my fingers. I glanced back up at my mother who was glaring at me for my "childish" actions.
I rolled my eyes and sat down on the couch next to Calum and Sidney. Calum wrapped his arm around my shoulders and Sidney grinned at us.
"So, what's going on with you two hm?" Myra asked as she sat down across from us.
I glanced at Calum and turned my attention back to Mya. I raised my eyebrows at her and she shut up instantly.
"What is going on with you two?" My mother asked sternly.
"Nothing ma, we're just really good friends. Now will you please let it go?" I asked trying to stay calm.
"Sidney, Brooklyn, why don't you girls help me set the table?" Luke stated, obviously trying to keep the peace.
They both nodded quickly and I've never seen them get up so fast in my life to actually do a chore.
"So Violet, how's the business going?" My mother asked as if she had practiced this.
"It's going really good actually, I have a meeting with Cliff- oh shit- I mean schist, the metamorphic rock yeah," I slapped my forehead in realization.
Clifford Enterprises, I'm such an idiot. That meant I was going to actually meet Michael Clifford without a choice and we were going to discuss business.
Now call me weird but as a woman of business I definitely find it the flipping best when a guy can talk business to me.
"Glad to know what you've been saying when I'm not around," My mother mumbled while rolling her eyes.
I felt anger instantly rise but Sidney and Brooklyn entered the room informing us that the table was set.
We all got up and made our way to the table. Like in the living-room, I sat in the middle of Calum and Sidney with, no one in front of me.
Luke had sat all the way to the left right next to my father's side of the table, while Myra had sat all the way to the right on my mom's side of the table.
I'm guessing Myra had seen my look of confusion because she mouthed to me 'I'm sorry.'
That didn't help at all because I was still confused.
We all heard the front door open and close shut again. The footsteps weren't so heavy as they made their way to the dining room.
Holy shit.
"Dad?"
