TO SAY ISABELL WAS NERVOUS to go on this quest would be an understatement, she was going to the underworld to see her dad, the man who had tried to kidnap her so many times. She felt as though the scar on her back was on fire, she was also worried about how Percy was feeling.
She was waiting for Percy to get his Oracle, she hated that place. It smelt like rotten fruit and creeped her out, it reminded her of Halloween and how her mom used to take her to "haunted" houses, as a kid Isabell loved scary things you could sit her in front of the TV and put the scariest movies on and she wouldn't move a muscle.
When Percy was done he walked out with a confused expression on his face after seeing Izzy standing there, waiting for him. "How was it?" The girl asked smiling at him.
Percy wasn't at all excited about this quest he had to go on, but knowing he'd have someone like Isabell there made him feel a lot safer. From what Luke had told him about her and what Percy saw for himself, she was a good person who could apparently "cut you in half with one swing of her blade" as Luke said.
"My stepdad showed up, it was weird." Percy shuddered at the thought of him.
Isabell giggled at this, "Yeah, mine turned into an old French teacher, complete bitch."
"I'm sorry you're being dragged along with me." The boy told her, Isabell frowned and ruffled his hair.
"Don't be, we're family it's what we do." Isabell laughed as he swatted her hand away. Neither of them had thought about how they were related due to their dads, but it was nice to know that they both had someone to trust because of that.
"Stop doing that with my hair!" Percy whined, trying to fix what he couldn't see, before he tilted his head, "I have a question."
"Ask away." Isabell thought that he'd want to ask about what quests are like or who she thinks he should pick to take with him, something innocent like that.
"Are you and Luke dating? Because I asked him and he said it's complicated whatever that means, and then I asked Chris who just laughed then patted my shoulder, I even asked Annabeth who-" Percy's question made Isabell stop dead in her tracks, her mouth widened slightly as she tried to think of an answer that wouldn't make her sound suspicious.
"No!" She yelled not calmly at all, Percy furrowed his brows not convinced at all. "We aren't dating- wait, what did Luke say?"
"It's complicated," Percy repeated, Isabell tilted her head slightly as if it helped her to think. What did he mean by "it's complicated"? The Jackson boy felt awkward as the two stayed in silence till they got to where he was supposed to choose 2 people to take with him. Izzy on the other hand couldn't stop the endless possibilities from flying around her brain of what Luke could have possibly meant.
