☠︎︎"Greeks are so extra."☠︎︎
ISABELL'S HANDS SHOOK VIOLENTLY as the bloodthirsty monster locked eyes with her, a cold chill danced on her spine when she saw an all too familiar smirk. Its dagger-like claws glistened from the lights of the train as if were showing them off to the frightened girl. It was mocking her. The world around her was silent, the only thing she could hear was her heartbeat that bellowed in her chest.
Her breathing quickened, barely audible in the quiet room that was just filled with beats and hungry growls, like the flutter of a bird trapped in a cage that was being stared down by its predator. Eyes wide, she stared into nothing, yet saw everything—every tiny detail magnified by the rush of adrenaline. Her hands trembled imperceptibly, fingers curling into her palms as if grasping for an anchor in a storm. Inside, a tempest raged, waves of fear crashing against the fragile walls of her composure, but outwardly she remained a statue, a portrait of calm betraying no sign of the chaos within. The world around her continued in its oblivious rhythm, while her heart pounded a frantic, silent symphony, echoing only in her ears.
She wasn't dying, but it felt like she was. She felt the exact same as she did her life flashed before her eyes, how she learnt the very hard way that her dad didn't care about her and it wasn't just tough love he was giving her.
Izzy knew what it felt like to be on the brink of death, she knew the feeling all too well, like a childhood friend. The world moves so slowly when you're dying, that's why it felt like she was dying now.
She wondered how many times in her life she'd feel like dying. How many times till she actually was dead? And would she ever know that she was dead, or would life just repeat itself?
The world was moving slowly, everything except the beast in front of her. Its eyes filled with the memory of its ancestor getting the better of the girl. The monster's tail rapidly flew past her and stuck its stinger into poor Percy who was caught completely off guard.
Pull yourself together.
The girl took a deep breath and instantly jumped up grabbing onto the beast's tail, her hands burned like a hot stove on the beast's skin and it let out a piercing whimper. "Go! Now!" Isabell turned to the others, Percy and Grover followed her order instantly but Annabeth was hesitant to leave her behind.
"But-"
"Annie, go now! I'll be right behind you!" Izzy reassured the younger girl, who was pleased with the answer and ran off. Izzy gripped onto the monster's tail even tighter till she could smell its charred skin begin to rot, then she ran after the others just missing the police officer's hand grabbing onto her shoulder.
The group ran through the carriages not caring about the police officers chasing them, the adrenaline rushing through their veins was enough to blur the whole world around them. But Izzy was more concerned about the hungry Chimera that was hunting them down. The girl's head spun like a teacup ride on a fair, her hands still burned but she couldn't care less, she just wanted to get off this stupid fucking train.
