Yato x Reader

"You're ugly."

"No one wants you!"

"No one."

"No one. One. One step. It's easy. Just one step."

You were standing one the school roof, standing in front of the railing with your arms wrapped around the metal. Just one foot in front of you and you'll fall. Everything would be gone. No one would bully you ever more. No one.

"One. Little. Step." You put your foot in front of you, it dangling. Just unlock your arms now. Slowly you let go of the railing, falling in the air before an arm wraps tightly around your waist.

You gasp in pain and get pulled over the railing, onto solid ground. All of a sudden, you regret the choice you were about to make. You cling to the random saviour and start sobbing.

"Don't worry. You're okay." The deep voice says and you look in surprise. What you see surprises you.

He has black, straight long hair, piercing blue eyes, and a long sword, wrapped in bandages in his hand. There was no expression on his face but he was staring at you intensely. Quickly, you push yourself away from him, your back bumping into the cold metal rail.

"Who the hell are you?" You snap, scared out of your mind. Why is this man, who is holding a freaking sword, on the roof with you. You made sure to steal the school keys and enter when it was dark, so no one would be here. And here he was standing in front of you... here he was, after saving you...

"I was making sure you don't commit suicide. Something wrong?" He asks, still no expression on his face. You were getting kind of scared until he starts grinning, wrapping his arm around your shoulder. "That was close wasn't it?"

This makes you even more mad. Close? How is he taking this so lightly? You were going to kill yourself for Jesus sake!

"Don't stop me." You snap and begin climbing over the rail when he grabs your waist again, pulling him tight against his chest. You try and struggle out of his hold. After a while, though, you just give up.

"Whatever. Just leave me alone." You mutter and break away from him, storming away.

The next day at school, you were still ignored by everyone. No one knew about you almost killing yourself. No one notices you. But why? Why had this happened? What did you ever do to them?!

"Do. Do. Nothing was done. You. Nothing. You are nothing. You die die die." These strange thoughts were running through your mind again. You clench your fists, tears in your eyes when you see him. The boy from yesterday. He was wearing the school uniform this time, instead of his track suit and scarf. He was talking with this one brown haired girl until he looks up to see you. He clocks his head before saying something to the girl and walking over.

"He-"

You interrupt him. "I don't want to talk or look at you." You push past him but he grabs your arm.

"Maybe that's your problem. You're too stuck up and rude." His eyes were staring at you again. You suppress a shudder, not looking back at him. "You need to make yourself more approachable."

Approachable... when did you become like this? It was Mina-chan. When she left you. Your best friend threw you away like you were some kind of trash. She got everyone to start talking bad about you and the rumors got to you, turning you into their words. You used to be such a nice girl, always happy and friends with everyone. You clutch the boys wrist tightly as the tears you pushed down started streaming down.

"Why do I want to die? I don't... I don't want to die. I want to live! I want to be with everyone! I want to go to college and get married and have children." You wail. People started to stop and stare but it didn't matter. All the pent up emotions from two years ago came out. All because of that one boy. He pulls you into his chest and wraps his arms around you. He doesn't say anything but his presence is enough.

"I'm sorry that this is happening to you. But as a human you must stride through these hard times with confidence." He pulls away from you and gives you a silly face, a little twinkle appearing. It makes you laugh and you wipe your eyes.

"Thank you." You whisper and he pats your head.

"Now go." He nudges you. You part from him then walk down the hallway before turning around.

"Hey what's your nam-" you ask but he wasn't around.

The graduation ceremony just finished and you sigh in relief, hugging your friends in excitement. His words have pushed you throughout your last few years and have helped you make friends. You never got his name, making that your biggest regret. You also realized that he never went to the school anyways, which is why you never saw him again.

After you met with your parents, something shocks you. Across the field, in a tree, was the boy. He was too far away but it looked as if he was watching you.

Your face heats up and your heart starts pounding as you lift your hand to wave. He waves back before leaning back, disappearing from sight. You smile to yourself before walking away with your parents.
