Chapter 1

Year: 2005
Y/n age: 13 years old

Y/n POV

I was at Leah's house since Sam is not at the house. He for some strange reason disappeared and the tribe is looking for him. I was sitting next to Seth as we are both doing our homework when I see Sam walking in. I got up and ran to him so fast and hugged him. "Where were you, Sam?" I asked him. "It's okay, just needed to fix something." Sam told me. I let go of the hug as I noticed how warm he is and how he grew but I didn't say anything as it was his business and not mine. After that I grabbed my things and left with Sam to our house. I went to my room as Sam had to meet with the elders of the tribe.

I grabbed my guitar and my camera as I started a YouTube channel of me singing cover songs. My brother doesn't know about this as I never sang in front of him before. Besides it's not like I'm going anywhere with this hobby. After a while I started to feel really hot so I took off my sweater before heading to the kitchen. I see Sam on the phone as I grabbed something to eat. I ate the takeout that Sam brought as he finished with his phone call. He looked at me with a smile before he looked confused. "What's up Sam?" I asked him as I finished eating. "Nothing, it's just that you're taller than normal." Sam commented.

"I am going through puberty. So I will be taller than before." I told him before my body started shaking slightly making Sam look at me with wide eyes. "I have to make a call real quick." Sam said before he took out his phone and went outside. I shrugged that off as normal. I put the dishes in the sink and went back to my room.

Sam POV

I went outside and dialed Billy. "Hello, Sam?" Billy answered. "Billy, I think I know who is next to phase." I said to him hastily. "Who?" He asked. "My little sister, Y/n. She is showing signs of phasing. She grew a couple inches taller, gaining some muscles and then she started shaking like she was about to phase. Didn't you tell me that the girls of the tribe don't phase?" I asked him. "Well, since Y/n has more of the gene she will phase, and because since Y/n is intersex it will make her phase quicker. Watch her closely, Sam. She will need you now more than ever." Billy explained to me. "Of course. Thanks Billy." I said before hanging up the phone.

I sighed sadly knowing my little sister is closer to shifting. I never wanted her to have a life like this. Protecting the tribe and killing unwanted bloodsuckers who enter our territory. I walked back inside the house as I notice Y/n went to her room. I have to show her the ropes of being a shapeshifter and to tell her she can't talk to anyone besides me, the imprints and the elders. And most of all she can't leave LA push because it is our duty as shifters to protect the tribe. This is gonna be hard, Y/n was always a social butterfly, she is friends with literally the whole tribe and forks.

The next day

Y/n POV

I got out of bed sweating as I felt my body was on fire and went to take a shower. I turned it on and took off my clothes and got in making me sigh in relief before I notice that I set the temperature on low. How is that possible? I didn't even feel the cold water at all. After a few minutes of showering I got out and put on some shorts as I'm still hot and then a sports bra and a tank top. I dried my long hair with a blow dryer before I went back into my room and went on my laptop and listened to music. I'm happy it's the weekend or else people will think I'm crazy for wearing shorts and tank top in this cold weather. I kept feeling angry for no strange reason before I got up and fell to the floor feeling something tearing out of me to get out.

I screamed as Sam came running to my room. He immediately went to my side and picked me up. "It's okay, sis. I got you. I'm gonna help you." Sam said as he took me to the woods and set me down gently as my body began shaking more rapidly making Sam stood back. "Y/n, it's okay. Let all the anger out and I'll tell you everything. It happened to me too." Sam told me. I did as told as my body shook more before I fell on all fours. Wait? Fours? I looked down and see fucking paws!? How? When? The heck is happening to me? I looked at Sam as I whined considering I can't talk to him. Sam then transformed into a wolf making me shocked. "Everything will be okay." Sam said making me flinched as his voice is in my head.
