The wind trapped in Michelles Tightly coiled hair as she picked up the old roses from her only son's grave yard, reaching the one month mark of his passing. Dried tears formed at the corner of her eyes as she glanced above remembering that she shouldn't grieve as those who have no hope. Those words gently wrapped around her heart forming a painful smile on her face. Michelle admitted that she was deeply in pain, the thoughts didn't stop running through her mind, caught in between fantasy and reality. The sudden ring from her phone pulled her out of deep thought. The private caller went across Michelles phone screen as she deeply sighed because she dreaded picking up unknown calls but discerning these times she gave in. "Hello" Michelle said dryly and after three seconds of silence Michelle repeated again with more volume "hello!' And with a cunning tone the person responded " The wages of sin is death" and hung up. Michelle, confused, removed the phone from her ears to her eyes and slowly repeated again " the wages of sin is death'. The capacity to understand such a statement was lacking within the mind of Michelle. She thought to herself who could that be and why?, she took one more look at her son's grave sight, intercepting her tears with coughs and made her way home remembering her mother and sister would be paying her a visit. Michelle desired to be alone but denying this visit was implausible.
" Come in," Michelle yelled. Raising from her couch with her tv remote in hand selecting her favorite worship instrumental and proceeded to get her welcomed not so welcomed guests. "There goes my baby" her mom said warmingly embracing her and as if her mother knew exactly what she needed Michelle's tensed muscles relaxed. Jayla shortly joined the embrace and said "aww we're hugging" with the biggest smirk on her face pushing herself in between them. Jayla caused an eruption of laughter to fill the room as both Michelle and their mom watched affection junky  Jayla try to absorb all the love that took place. She always knew how to draw the attention away from sorrowful circumstances because it always made her uncomfortable, yes she was deeply grieved about her nephew and she knew these unforeseen circumstances would bring about sorrow so her coping mechanism, joy,was ready to be wielded. The worst question "how are you" followed with a hit on jaylas shoulder from Christina their mother and a head tilt from Michelle while they took their spots on the couch , caused the transition of conversation. ' Michelle I know you weren't in the right place mentally before to bring clarity to your sons passing which is why I waited to ask and since we are here now,  if its okay with you please help your mama to understand what transpired, I mean my baby was fine days before his passing, the most joyful, healthy, and developed kid. Even the doctors were amazed by his exceptional development, what happened?. She threw her hands up staring blankly while tears filled her eyes. Jayla watching them both also waited for Michelle to reiterate what occurred. Michelle leaned over, her elbows on her knees and her hands cupped her face, attempting to gather her many thoughts. "Let me start from the beginning", Michelle said, sighing deeply.
