Sea Of Forgetfulness

THE CHALLENGE

"Grab my headphones in the drawer nearest to the window"Calvin looked back at Michelle before she left the room. "Got it" Michelle responded and picked up both pregnancy tests placing them in her hoodies pocket. Making her way towards Calvin she screeched "I'm so excited" propping up her phone on the living room table ready to record. "Im going first"Calvin said, " wait so do you put the headphones in or do i? Michelle asked. "How do you want to play a game and don't know how to play it" Calvin said looking at Michelle sideways smiling. Michelle laughing said "ok, I'll put the headphones in" she grabs them along with Calvin's phone and picks a song, Calvin in retaliation quickly grabbed his phone and said "nah, let me choose so i know you aren't cheating". Michelle threw her hands up and said "go ahead champ". Calvin picked Spirit Chant by Victoria Orenze causing Michelle to jump at the sudden burst of sound. He took that as confirmation keeping the phone in his possession, "hey" he yelled. Michelle squinting at his mouth said "huh". " Your lips, I want to kiss them" Calvin mouthed. "Say it again" Michelle yelled back, Calvin repeated it. "you want to hit who?" Followed by a head tilt from Michelle. Calvin laughing waved his finger "no" and repeated it again. "My lips, you want to..what?" Michelle said, taking out her headphones. Calvin catching his breath from laughing said " I said your lips, i want to kiss them, you are horrible at his' ' he continued laughing. "Why did you have to use so many words, it's only one round? '' Michelle said bitterly. " my turn". Michelle said, grabbing Calvin's phone as he placed the headphones in his ear, after some scrolling she picked My Joy Has Come by Victoria orenze. Michelle gave him that payback look when Calvin winced at the sudden burst of sound. " Vengeance belongs to the lord," he said. Michelle took a deep breath and said "can you hear me" . Calvin in the song paid her no attention, Michelle tapped him and said " you are going to be a father. He said "I am going.. say it again slowly" Michelle, confused at how good he was at reading lips, repeated slowly " you-are-going-to-be-a-father". Calvin responded back each word as she said it and when she reached the last word he didn't repeat it but pulled out the headphones jumping off the coach, placing both hands over his mouth, looked Michele dead in her eyes and said "stop playing with me". Michelle said " you are going to be a father" pulling both pregnancy tests out of her pocket into Calvin's hand. He reads them and attacks Michelle with a bear hug,the both tumble to the floor and Calvin says " oh shit, my baby" helps her up and proceeds to scream " I'm going to be a father" Calvin then becomes emotional and starts praising God. He embraced Michelle and said "when God said he that findeth a wife receives favor from the lord, he wasn't lying, I'm grateful that God chose us to raise his kid and you to carry.. wow we are about to have our first kid". Michelles eyes filled with tears at Calvin's expression of love mixed with pain from the truth she hid so well under delusion. Calvin said "when did you find out?" " the day you made my favorite dish, my pallet rejected it and i decided from there to test myself". " oh, i knew it, you were acting strange, why did you tell me?." Michelle responded "I wanted to be sure before blurting out a life shifting news" Calvin said " from the beginning i told you that we are one and we would remain friends throughout our marriage keeping that open space to tell each other everything, truthful to each other and God always". Michelle said " this is time for celebration not a lecture" and Calvin said " you know i get sensitive about what is mine" kissing her and tried to slip his tongue in between her lips. Calvin stop! she giggled, we have to leave now. He said "no we aren't. I need to express my full gratitude" while removing his clothes. Michelle laughed knowing there was no way to escape this. The night ended  passionately with sparks of love.
        The next day Calvin and Michelle recapped the previous night in their kitchen. "That wasn't so holy of you Calvin"Michelle said. "You talking?"Calvin responded and Michelle gestured to her zipping her lips. She began to tell him how she wanted to surprise their family and pulled out her iPad showing him the mock of it all. He agreed and helped Michelle decide on the parts she was indecisive about. They began making calls, choosing the dates, and everything else.
