Sea Of Forgetfulness

CONFESSIONS

  *SIX MONTHS LATER*

   A swollen foot, penguin swaying, out of breath, hand on hip,and poked out belly, Michelle, turning her key into her and Calvin's apartment from her daily walk with this group of pregnant ladies she came into contact with around her complex. They would meet up and get their exercise  on and chit chat about their experiences thus far. She turned the key hearing the door unlatch while pushing it open, her head faced the door knob as she began to complain how hot it was. "BA-" her words were cut off when she lifted her head and her eyes became an adversary. Calvin and Landen were seated on the couch in conversation, laughing as though they knew each other for years, the whole room could hear Michelle's heart  thumping out of her chest. " Hey babe, meet Landen our new convert, we were just having bible study" " Landen, this is my wife and the mother of my soon to be born kid, Michelle". Landen reached his hand out to greet Michelle and she stood still in shock. "Michelle, are you alright?" Calvin said. "Ye-..YEAH, just winded from the workout today" she reached out her hand to shake landens with the realest fakest smile. Landen, reading the room, decided to take his leave and Calvin walked him to  the door in oblivion.
   Michelle disappears in the bathroom " no no no, this can't be everything was going great, did he really give his life to Christ?, well he doesn't think the baby is his right?, you think he will bring us up to Calvin? Oh God help me". A ping on Michelle's Phone brought her out of the anxiety in her mind, it was a notification from the Bible app giving her the verse of the day. She clicked on the full chapter and it read " the poor man had nothing except one ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him". Michelle continues to read " Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him". Michelle's eyes filled up and she stumbled upon another scripture that read " drink water from your own cistern, and running water from your own well. Why should your springs flow in the streets, your  streams of water in the public squares? Let them be yours alone, never to be shared with strangers". Michelle knew, and started weeping loudly without control to the point Calvin broke into the bathroom to find his wife losing it. He held her and tried to smooth her to protect her and the baby from any complications.
      WAIT! STOP! I can't take it anymore. I need a drink, tears streaming down Christina's face as she rises from Michelle's couch. Jaylin in shock repeatedly said "Jesus" and Michelle with her head cupped within her hands remained silent. Christina returned and said " I'm your mom and I'll always love you, why did you keep all this to yourself Michelle? And how did this lead to Jonah's death?. Spaced out looking at the ground Michelle replied " I'm trying to get there" Christina sat down again and said go ahead mama is listening. "Okay" said Michelle. "After that break down in the bathroom it was like scales of deception were removed from my mind and my sin was now before me, I became restless and my affection for Calvin deceased, he thought it was pregnancy symptoms but nope. I knew that the only way to end this torture was to confess, I couldn't. Everything truly went left as days went by and I received a random text message while me and Calvin were at our doctor's appointment and the message read " is that baby mine".
