PART 8: THE PERFECT SURPRISE

   The Night of the surprise quickly approached. That morning Michelle went to the place holding her event to make sure everything was running smoothly and setup was running on good time, she spoke to the decorating team communicating her desires and then left to get pampered from hair to toes. Calvin was out doing the same, he went to pick up their outfits before returning home. The event started at 8pm and was invitation only without any plus ones. They were expecting only 20 guests in all as this was an intimate and private moment. " Hey babe, it's seven we'll soon have to start making our way" Calvin said, finalizing his outfit with a chain and Michelle was only half way into her makeup. Michelle finished her makeup around 7:30p and Calvin helped her get into her handmade gown. Her hair overflowed her shoulders from a successful twist out. All Calvin could say was "damn" and Michelle replied "not too bad yourself". Calvin grabbed his car keys and said " ill be outside warming up the car, hurry". Michelle grabbed her heels after deciding to put them on when she reached the event. Checking to be sure she didn't forget anything, turned off the lights, and made her way out the door. 30 minutes later they arrive and quickly enter. They communicated to the host, who was also a part of the decorating team, that they would like for everyone to wait outside until they shoot the host a text, so everyone can enter at the same time while Michelle and Calvin yell surprise revealing the room by turning the lights on.
     All went according to plan, the guest arrived and waited outside talking amongst themselves anticipating what was behind those doors. Their conversations were cut short when the hostess called out " thank you family and friends for coming on time and waiting patiently, my name is Latoya the hostess for the night and i will guide you through these very doors, now if you are excited like me, let's let out a quiet shout!!" Latoya then received a call from inside giving her the green light to bring in the guests. " Please follow me," Latoya said. The guest began to follow her into the darkness and on beat as everyone stepped in within seconds " surprise" resounded in the whole room followed by the popping of confetti. Their families were taken aback by the beauty in the room, from the tables, the garland that read" then there were 3 while Michelle and Calvin stood underneath", and the balloons. Confusion still gripped them until the hostess began to pass out the cookies with the sonogram attached.
      Michelle and Calvin became emotional at the reaction from their families. Both their moms were overtaken with joy and buried them in hugs, kisses,and prayer, blessing their marriage and this new season they were embarking on. " my days of being spoiled have finally come to an end"Jaylin said " girl hush" Michelle's mom said. Calvin was on the other side with all his brothers surrounding him pushing him repeatedly yelling "yeah" and hugging each other and finally they all became emotional. " and we are the ones said to be emotionally unstable" Michelle said jokingly to herself. Michelle now standing farther up on the mini stage where the garland was placed looked over, overwhelmed by the joy on both sides of the family, the laughter, the horrible dance moves, the many pictures, and while rubbing her tummy she looked at Calvin and of course Calvin was already staring at her, he mouthed " i love you" and she responded back " I love you too" that night caused everything else to fade away in all its perfection.
