Lost in Illusions

Without having the basics of needs,

We want dominance, ruling all in our sights,

For we see pride in our ego winning,

Even if they don't bear any fruits,

Yet we lead the way.

We belong to a generation,

A generation that doesn't believe

In consistency, hard work, and true dedication,

But prefers shortcuts to reach our tower,

To achieve something to flaunt and not gain.

Lost in our own delusional world,

We chase illusions and lies,

Disconnecting ourselves from reality,

In yearning for fake validation,

That quickly dies.

We belong to a generation,

A generation dwelling in

A virtual world of likes and shares,

Fabricating their personas with false makeovers,

For a crowd that doesn't genuinely care.

All we need is

To break the trend and cycle,

To pause and reflect on our deeds,

To rediscover the worth of honesty,

To build a generation of grace.

We belong to a generation

A generation that needs to understand

There is real growth in hard work,

Ego is our real enemy,

And pride is real when it comes naturally from growth.
