Lessons in Aftermath

Everything that I had,

What I had called my peaceful forever,

Has now departed away from me,

Giving me a life lesson,

A lesson of trust and illusion.

They say, if it doesn't stay

It was never meant for you,

But if you ask me,

Even on my way to finding heaven,

I would never find anyone quite like you.

So, I would do anything and everything to keep you.

One simple mistake,

Could shatter my peaceful forever,

If only I had known,

I would have been cautious with my trust.

Emotions overwhelm me,

I cry even for the slightest things,

Hope you had understood,

And wouldn't have played bad.

All those moments,

When I dedicated hours,

To support and uplift you,

You forgot it all,

In exchange for mere attention.

In the end, from now on, I'll remember

Life teaches us in heartbreaks as well,

For now, I see I have emerged stronger,

And more powerful than before.
