*Quick Lil' Reminders:
-Every chapter will start in Taryn's POV unless I say otherwise :)
-If any of you know what Amanda Steele (she will play Taryn) looks like right now (Silverish/purpleish hair) please know that as of RIGHT NOW in the story (April 2014) her hair is still brown. She didn't dye it in real life until January of this year, but she'll be dying it soon in the book. She does not have braces in the story either. I know she did in real life but for the sake of this story, she won't :)
-Ethan will be coming in soon, I'm not saying when, but very soon ;)
-I know Ethan lives in Chicago but in this story, he lives in LA.
-If any timing in this story is a little off, I apologize.
Thats all! You may now read the chapter.

I woke up to the sounds of my mom and dad laughing away downstairs. The invigorating scent of bacon and pancakes filled my nose and I smiled, kicking my feet out from under the blankets and placed them on the cold hardwood floors.
I pat my dog Ella on the head and lightly pushed her off my big hoodie and pulled it on over my tank top.
Since it's only the beginning of April, its still pretty chilly out.
I waddled downstairs to the kitchen and climbed up on one of the chairs sitting in front of the island.
"Morning Taryn! How did you sleep?" My dad asked while flipping some pancakes.
"Good I guess.." I yawned.
I pulled out my phone from my hoodie pocket and checked my school's Facebook page to see when school would start back up again.
Last Monday, a bunch of pipes bursted and flooded the entire bottom and main floor of the school. The company that built the school said to cancel school for a week because they were worried the schools foundation couldn't handle all that water at once and it could be weak. So they have to get it checked. Its been exactly a week but we won't be back for a few more days so I have some more time to myself, which I don't mind.
My dad placed down a plate of pancakes and bacon in front of me and placed his arm around my mom. "What time do you start work?"
My mom looked at her watch and kissed my dad on the cheek, "I have to be there for nine, I should leave now."
"I'll drive you, I got called into work today too." My dad smiled, grabbing his briefcase and his keys, kissing me on the head and walking out the door.
I finished up my breakfast and put my dishes in the dishwasher and stood still in the kitchen, looking over the living room and dining room.
Being an only child in a big house can be pretty lonely sometimes. Especially when your mother is a lawyer and your dad is a doctor and they both work late. I still have a great relationship with my parents, but I just wish they could be home more.
My extremely bored mind took over and I found myself standing in the living room in front of the tv. I flopped down on the couch and let out a big sigh, wishing I had a friend to hang out with. Brooke got grounded for staying out past curfew, and all of my other friends are away in other states for the next few days.
If only Ethan were here. He always knew how to make things better.
What upsets me most about him leaving was him just cutting off all contact with me. I want to know what I did wrong. Sure, sometimes we wouldn't talk for a day or two because we were both busy but then we would talk after like we were never apart.
