It's been a few hours since I was told to stay in my room and I haven't left. Whenever my mom is pissed, you do what she says or you most likely won't live to see tomorrow.

I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and I sat up in bed, placing my pen down on my notebook. My mom walked into my room with my phone in hand and I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Here's your damn phone back. It's been ringing non stop for hours and it's pissing me off." She snapped, tossing my phone to me.

My mom turned on her heel and left my room, slamming the door behind her.

My phone vibrated in my hands and I looked down, seeing Brooke was calling me.

"Hey," I blankly said.

"What's wrong? I heard a shit ton of yelling from your house a couple hours ago."

"It's a long story. I think I'm grounded or something, I'll see if I can come over okay?" I asked, getting up and putting a pair of jeans on and slipping on my shoes, leaving my hoodie on.

"Yeah, just walk right in, I'm upstairs in my room okay babes?"

"Okay, see you in a few."

I walked out of my room and down the stairs and overheard my mom and dad in the kitchen, talking about me, but I tried to ignore it. I walked into the kitchen and stood, waiting for them to finish talking.

"What do you want Taryn?" My dad sighed, placing down his drink.

"I know I'm sorta grounded, but can I please go to Brooke's house? I'll be back in an hour or so I promise."

They both nodded, and jogged out of the house before they could change their mind and within thirty seconds I was at Brooke's house, standing at her front door with my hand on the doorknob.

Pushing the door open, I kicked off my shoes and jogged up the stairs and into Brooke's room. So much emotion from the day came over me and tears sprung to my eyes faster than I could ever imagine they would.

She looked up at me with a smile, but her smile dropped into a concerned frown when she saw the state I was in.

"Taryn what's wrong?" She asked, getting up and hugging me.

"I fucked up!" I cried. "I fucked up so bad Brooke!"

She led me over to her bed, pushing a bunch of things off onto the floor to make room for the both of us.

"Tell me everything, leave nothing out. I won't interrupt."

I took a deep breath.

"So, last night Ethan came into my room, and stuff happened and we ended up having sex. I woke up at like four in the morning, completely forgetting what had happened and got changed. I turned on the flash light on my phone and saw Ethan still in my bed and I started freaking out and crying and he left and I fell asleep on the floor. Then I woke up a little while later and looked out my window and saw Tanner and his family getting out of the car in my driveway and when I brought him upstairs to my room, we told each other we loved each other and then he wanted to have sex. Kelsey came in and flipped shit on me and said, "Not even twelve hours ago you fuck my boyfriend and now you wanna go again with yours?" And Tanner looked like he was about to cry and I tried talking to him but he ran out and now everything is shit because I can't figure anything out and I've ruined everything!" I cried, holding onto my chest, trying to breath.

"Do you love Tanner?" Brooke asked, pushing the hair off my sweaty forehead.

"To be honest, I don't think so. When he asked me to be his girlfriend, I didn't expect it to last long and I never felt any emotion towards him at all and then things started moving and I didn't know I would get myself in this deep, you know?" I said, wiping the tears from my cheeks.

"Talk to Ethan first, get it all sorted out. But for now, lets clear your mind and watch some Netflix, is that okay?"

Brooke got up and grabbed her laptop and flopped down on the bed beside me and then opened up Netflix then clicked on Skins. We started a new season and snuggled together and before I knew it, I was asleep.

"Hey, Taryn!" Brooke whispered.

I opened my eyes and looked at my phone, seeing it was eight thirty at night and I shot up.

"I was supposed to be home hours ago, shit!" I freaked, looking at Brooke.

"Just run home! Don't forget to talk to Ethan and Tanner and call me if you need ANYTHING, okay?" Brooke said, pulling me into a tight hug then pushing me away. "Now go, I don't want your parents hating me."

My tired body carried me out of Brooke's house and to my house, and into the kitchen where a note was left from my parents.

"Taryn,

Your father and I had to head out for a few hours to deal with work stuff. Your Aunt and Kelsey didn't want to be around you so they're staying at a hotel in the city for tonight. Please do not get yourself into any trouble, or there will be consequences.

-Mom and Dad"

I threw the note out in the trash and grabbed a bag of chips from the cabinet and a bottle of water from the fridge. The front door opened and Ethan walked in. He looked up at me with no emotion, and I looked at him the same way.

"I'm sorry." He said, walking into the kitchen.

"Me too. It never should have happened."

It was silent for a minute or two, and after I was bored of standing around I grabbed my stuff and walked past Ethan and into the living room and onto one of the couches.

Again we sat in an awkward silence, but this time I decided to break it.

"You never told me why." I said blankly, looking at my hands.

"What?" Ethan asked, sitting on the chair diagonally across from me.

"You never told me why you stopped talking to me. You never told me why you cut me off and ignored me and left me to think I did something wrong. I thought you hated me. For years I watched you make new friends and grow up on television and live like you never once thought of me-"

"I did think about you, fuck! I thought about you every damn day!" He yelled, walking over to me, grabbing me, pulling me up. "I got busy and things happened and I missed you so much that I didn't know how to face you."

"Still though, you promised. You pinky promised me when we were nine, Ethan."

I found it hard to make eye contact with him but when I did, I finally took in every feature he had. I couldn't help but stare at him and end up speechless, because I never really took the time to listen to what he had to say, or look deep into his features.

His blue eyes were looking down on me, almost sparkling. He had such a kind face.

Ethan's soft hands grabbed mine, and our pinkies intertwined for the first time in years.

A heat spread all over my body and my hands started tingling. My cheeks heated up and I couldn't help but smile.

"I thought about you every damn day, Taryn. So from here on out, I pinky promise to never ever forget you, or leave you behind." Ethan whispered with a huge smile on his face. "Ever"
