Taryn-

When I awoke that morning, the first thing I noticed was the peaceful quiet. It was pure bliss. Nobody else was awake yet, and I could tell because of the lack of crashing and yelling downstairs in the kitchen.

The second thing I noticed was the weight across my abdomen. I turned my head and a small giggle escaped my lips.

The boy laying beside me was fast asleep, small snores coming from him. A huge smile spread across my face.

Damn, I'm lucky.

Before I knew it, my hand was caressing his cheek, feeling the softness of his skin on my fingertips.

"Please stop touching my face."

My hand shot back in shock and my eyes were bulging out of my head. Ethan opened his eyes and smiled, then laughed. We stared at each other for a few minutes, linking our fingers. Like I always do when I look at him, I took in all of his features.

"Can we get up now? I have to talk to Kelsey today, remember?" Ethan said, getting out of bed and walking to the door.

"I want to come."

He turned around and looked at me with furrowed eyebrows. I raised mine at him and sat up in the bed, crossing my arms over my chest, blowing the hair out of my face.

"I'm coming and that's final."

"You really think that's a good idea? Just think about it, please. I'm going to go shower, think about it while I'm gone."

He left the room and it was silent once again, so I began thinking.

I thought about it for a moment. Should I really go? It might make things worse. He's going to break up with his current girlfriend while his new soon to be girlfriend would be sitting right there. A part of me wanted to go just so I could see the look on her face when Ethan tells her that he's dropping her crusty ass. But another part of me knows that IF I go, a fight would most likely break out and the situation would be worse.

Before I knew it I was at my closet looking for a shirt to wear along with my black shorts. I pulled a loose v-neck white shirt out and pulled it over my lace bralette. I tied my hair up in a ponytail and applied some makeup, adding the last bit of mascara to my lashes just as Ethan walked in.

"So you're coming I take it?" Ethan asked, coming up behind me and putting all my makeup away for me.

"Yup!"

He sighed, pulling his shorts up and untucking his muscle shirt. He stood behind me, looking in the mirror and combed his fingers through his hair until he got it how he wanted. Ethan made eye contact with me in the mirror and I smiled.

"How did I get so lucky?" Ethan whispered, standing me up.

He attached his lips to my neck and I melted in his arms. Goosebumps spread all over my body and I wanted nothing more than give him what he wanted, but I can't. Technically Kelsey is still his girlfriend.

"You can't say that yet, I'm still not your girlfriend!" I giggled, pulling away from him.

"Fine." He huffed. "I called an Uber before I got in the shower, it should be here any minute."

Just as he said that I saw a SUV pull up in front of my house. I pointed towards it and grabbed Ethan's hand and left the house. We got in the car and told the man where to take us and he nodded, telling us to sit back and relax.

This is crazy. Family gatherings will never be the same now. Kelsey is gonna have it out for me and will stop at nothing to make my life a living hell.

She's always disliked me. But until now, I never gave her a reason to hate me so much. I've always been so kind to her, but as soon as she started turning into a bitch, I gave it right back. But she didn't like that.

Kelsey hates me so much that she would rather spend the rest of her time here, in a hotel. Not with me and my parents. It really hurts because I want her to like me, but after today, she'll hate me even more.

"We're here!" The driver cheered, turning around and smiling at us.

I whispered a thank you and got out, standing in front of the hotel doors. Ethan finally joined me and we walked inside and into an empty elevator.

"Does she know you're coming? What room is she in?"

"She knows I'm coming, just not you. She's on the eighth floor, room 809"

I nodded. A small sweat broke out on my forehead and I began to panic. Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe I shouldn't have come.

I started to feel nauseous, and my palms were getting clammy.

"You okay?" Ethan asked, grabbing my hands.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little nervous, that's all!"

The elevator ringed and the doors opened, letting us out. We walked out and down the hallway until we got to room 809 and that's when I realized that I would walk out of there with Ethan by my side, or with a few teeth down my throat and two black eyes.

Ethan knocked three times on the door and let go of my hand. We stood and waited for a moment for the door to open and when it did I just wanted to laugh at how hard Kelsey was trying.

She was wearing the shortest black shorts I have ever seen. They could most likely pass for a pair of underwear. On top she was wearing a hot pink and orange lace pushup bra underneath a thin white tee shirt.

"Sorry! I wasn't done getting ready yet." She smirked, making eye contact with me.

We haven't been here for five minutes yet and I already want to kill her.

"Hey, uh we're here to talk. So if we could just.." Ethan mumbled, trying not to make eye contact with her.

She pulled Ethan inside and left me out in the hallway so I let myself in, slamming the door behind me. My legs carried me to the kitchen table where Ethan was across from Kelsey  and I sat down, wanting nothing more than to lift my leg up over the table and kick her in the face.

"So, you probably know why we're here." Ethan began.

"Yup, but before we start anything I think Taryn should everything because obviously she doesn't know."

Kelsey sat back in the chair and looked me right in the eyes, almost looking sorry. My heart began beating so fast I was scared they could hear it.

Ethan stayed quiet and let go of my hand that he was holding under the table. He rubbed his hands together and finally opened his mouth to talk.

"She does know everything because theres nothing to tell. I'm here to end things with you so quit trying to start shit, okay? We're done now and we're leaving."

Ethan grabbed me and pulled me out of the hotel room and thats when I knew, something was wrong.
