"What makes you think that??" Ara asked, finally getting to hear what she wanted to.

"You can probably guess this isn't the first time this has happened," Felix said slowly,

"the curse consumes me from midnight to sunrise... what exactly did you make sense of the curse, though?"

Hmm. What did she think of the curse? That it turned him into a vampire, of course.

But Ara had read her fair share of fantasy, and she knew vampires don't lose control unless they don't drink blood in a while.

So what did midnight have to do with his curse?

And why was he being so... what was the word for it? I think it was "horny"... I can't ask him that though...

"The curse turns you into a vampire... at midnight until sunrise... and when you see someone through that time period, you lose control?"

He attacked me, though, and when the guys came in, he didn't attack them... does it only apply to women? Maybe " horny" was the right word...

Felix raised his eyebrows at her, "you guessed scaringly accurately... remember how I told you your blood tasted sweet?"

"Yeah?"

"Not only that but it also cleared my mind a little," Felix said, "I was able to control myself to some extent... so that I didn't kill you."

Ara gasped, "do you mean you killed all the other girls before me?"

Felix didn't look at her, "there was just one girl... I only killed one. I can't remember who... it was a long time ago. I lock myself away at midnight ever since then, but you just happened to be there..."

"So you think I can cure you just because you didn't kill me?" Ara asked, worried where this guy got his logic from.

"You're not obliged to! Of course. It's a miracle that you promised not to tell anyone. That was more than enough. You don't have to cure me," Felix fiddled with his fingers, "I was just... saying."

Thank god.

She was terrified enough of him.

Especially after he literally admitted that he'd killed someone because of the curse.

The moment he said that, what little love she had left for him was thrown out the window.

She was done.

She was scared of him, and she wanted nothing more to get out of this room this instant.

And thankfully, the bell saved her.

She said goodbye to him and headed for the door, but he stopped her.

"Wait. Give me your number," he said, pulling out his phone. Ara's heart skipped a beat.

Not because she was happy that he'd asked, but she was terrified of what she'd be getting herself into if she gave him her number.

"N-no," she stammered, not looking at him, "sorry, I have to go to class. Bye."

And she ran away, leaving him there.

After school...

"Yahhh, why are you avoiding me!?" Hyunjin ran after Ara as she walked away from him.

"I'm not," Ara replied shortly, not looking at him.

She was angry at him. Really angry.

Because he thought she forgot everything, and that made her angry because he was remaining ignorant about what happened at HIS party.

"Yahh," Hyunjin grabbed her hand and spun her around, "why won't you look at me?"

Ara paused. She was being childish. Very childish.

But she couldn't control her anger anymore, so she ended up taking it out on him.

"Why didn't you tell me about Felix's curse? That he was a VAMPIRE? You knew! And you SAW what happened last night! And you're so IGNORANT about it! Do you know how ANNOYING it is?" She screamed at his face and regretted it after seeing his expression.

"How do you know about his curse?" Hyunjin grabbed her by the shoulders, "no way, do you remember what happened last night?"

And she told him the whole story.

What Felix had told her, and what she had saw. How he used that liquid and healed her wounds.

How she remembered it all, when she wasn't supposed to.

Hyunjin sat down with her at a park and they ate ice cream together, watching the sun set.

"So," Hyunjin looked at her, "you're avoiding me because of last night?"

Ara blushed, embarrassed that's she was being immature, "yeah..."

Hyunjin peeled open her ice cream for her and placed it in her hand.

"I'm sorry, Ara. Please don't be mad at me. Alright?" Hyunjin smiled at her hopefully, "I can't stand it when you avoid me."

Ara slapped his shoulder, "alright, you jerk. Don't turn this into something corny."

Ara checked the time, and gasped, "aish, I forgot to tell my parents I was coming home late..." she bit her lip, worried what they'd say if they found out she had been with Hyunjin this late.

Hyunjin looked at her, worried, "are you going to be in trouble for coming home late?"

Ara paused.

Of course she'd be in trouble.

But she'd be in even more trouble if her parents found out that she'd been hanging out with a guy when she was supposed to be studying.

Her dad would probably beat her.

But she couldn't tell Hyunjin that, so she just brushed it off, "nah, Minho will cover for me."

I sure hope he does.
