oh, I wish I could tell you
for there are so many words
I wish to speak.
I want to tell you all about my day
How the sunlight hits my face
how the warm breeze comes my way
how the squirrel leaves a trace
I also want to tell you
how much I cried that day
How much I begged for you
To let me stay
But you didn't listen
You walked away
You made me feel
Like a cat gone astray
Why did you leave me?
When I gave the world to you
You broke it into pieces
Your vow not so true
Why couldn't you see stars in my eyes
When I could see a galaxy in yours
Why couldn't you hold me
When I could hug you as I adored
So if you ask me why I'm so quiet
The reason is the violence
And the lasting pain
To make me go silent.
But of course I don't say this out loud
I brush my hair and I quietly stare
You sigh and look out the window
So once again silence follows.
