Chapter 2

Tobias POV

Nobody can comprehend how mad I am at that slut right now. She just insulted my Tris in a very derogatory way. I hope she rots in hell when she dies. I also hope Tris is okay. I mean, she didn't cry or anything but she looked absolutely torn when Lauren said that about her. She excused herself to the washroom and still hasn't come back. Wonder what's taking her so long. Class starts in 5 minutes and she isn't here yet. I decide to text Christina about her. 

Me-Hey Christina

Christina-Hey, wassup??

Me-Tris isn't back yet.

Christina- yeah, I noticed. Do you want me to go and check on her?

Me-That'd be awesome!! Thanks! :)

Christina-No prob, you're my friend too. 

And with that, I watch as she stands from her seat, which is about 2 seats away from mine. Moments later, she returns with a very broken looking Tris. Her eyes are red and puffy and she keeps sniffing. Her small face is tear stained. She's crying and one half of me is dying inside while the other half is fuming with with anger at Lauren. She sits down beside me and I open my mouth to say something but the teacher comes in and starts lesson.

I waiting impatiently for my Economical Studies, which is my 3rd period, to end. Unfortunately, Lauren is with me and sitting beside me in this class. And god, she annoys the crap outta me. My phone keeps buzzing every 5 minutes because of her text messages. But I don't pay any attention to them. I just keep listening to the teacher's rambling about statistics.  I look at my watch. 5 more minutes. Waiting..still waiting...still waiting...still waiting...and..class is over!! Yes!! Ugh!, you call that 5 minutes? It seemed more like 5 hours. I quickly get up and leave, but not before a very, very annoying face stops me. Lauren. 

"Come on, Four!! I know you like me!!" She says, trying to act sexy. Keyword, trying. Pathetic.

"No! I hate you more than ever because you hurt Tris! Twice! Now, get your ugly face out of my sight before I reconsider slapping you!!" I yell at her. I push past her to my next class.

When I get there, I see that Christina is sitting beside Tris, who is sobbing. I thought Christina wasn't in this class. 

"Hey Christina." I say and she looks up. She pulls me aside. 

"Hey Four, listen. She's pretty shaken up right now and I can't get her to stop crying. But it's not so obvious until the teacher can notice. She needs you. Lauren said some pretty mean things to her. If someone insulted me that way, I'd kill myself. She really, really needs you by her side." She says. "Bye gotta get to my next class." 

"Bye." I say. I sit beside Tris and put my arm around her shoulders. I pull her nearer to me. "I love you." is all I can say for now.
