"Happy birthday, Kijae!", Seungmin shouts out as he runs up to the surprised Kijae who already had a party hat on his head. Heejae also stood beside Kijae, her being equally as shocked as Kijae was.
"Holy shit!", Kijae screams as he latches himself onto Seungmin, "I haven't seen you in ages, Seungmin!"
Heejae then smiles as she joins into their hug, "I missed you, Seungmin!"
Heejae and Kijae were also close friends with Seungmin since he used to always come over after classes during our time in high school.
I remember, when I was in my first year of college, they would always ask about Seungmin and if he'd be coming over again.
I kept on saying that he was busy over and over again, but soon they stopped asking so I guess they just gave up.
"We brought the cake, Mrs. Jan!", Eunmin shouts out as she carefully steps into the house with the cake box in her hands.
"Who's that?", my mom asks, and was probably referring to Jooyeon as she already knew who Jiseok and Seungmin were, as she helps Eunmin set the cake on the table, where a bunch of other dishes were set down.
"This is Jooyeon, our friend from college", I smile, "three more are on their way, by the way."
"So," Kijae starts, "I'm actually going to have people other than you guys at my party?"
"Isn't your 'best friend of twelve years' coming by too?", Heejae asks as she passes around party hats, placing one on Seungmin. Kijae shakes his head.
"He's gone to Berlin for his parents' wedding anniversary.", Kijae frowns, "I was expecting it just to be the four of us, but now there's going to be twelve!"
"Your brother's pretty cute.", Jooyeon laughs as he fixes his long hair and the party hat.
"We heard it was someone's birthday!", Gunil shouts out as he comes in with a wide smile and almost five massive bags with wrapped gifts in them, "who's the birthday boy?"
"This rat right here.", I smile as I wrap and arm over Kijae's shoulder, then frowning at him, "did you get taller? I could have sworn you were shorter than me.. I don't like that. Stop growing."
"I've always been taller than you?!"
