A better situation

Adraste POV

Everyone was walking in and out of the room meeting me. Right now i'm sitting on the floor watching as Markus, North and Becky set up a makeshift bed for me. They make sure it'll be warm for me, "thank you for doing this for me." North looks up at me as she's sewing a makeshift pillow. "You have to be the most grateful human i've ever met," she says smiling "your the first one's to show me kindness. How could I not thank you?" North finishes sewing the pillow and lays it on the makeshift mattresses. Becky helps me stand, I lean on her, I wince. "I know it hurts but you need to keep the strength in your legs," she explains as we walk.

   She helps me sit down and helps me takes off my boots. "Becky I don't think she needs to be coddled," North says coldly. "I... Sorry I'm just so use to taking care of children and seeing you in distress triggered something." Becky says to me, "it's okay Becky. I've never had a motherly figure so its been nice" Becky smiles ear to ear.

"I'll watch over Adraste as she sleeps" Markus sits on my left, I turn over on my left side. Theirs less bruising on my left side, "goodnight Adraste. I'll be here when you wake up" he smiles at me softly, "goodnight Markus."  I close my eyes and snuggle further into the blankets.

  November 9th, 2038. 3:00 am.

   Adraste POV

I open my eyes and see Markus sitting beside me like he said he would. He smiles softly at me, "Morning Adraste." I sit up and go to stretch my arms but I wince and grip my side.

  "Are you alright?" I look over and see Becky. "Yeah just the bruises hurt," Becky walks over to me and helps me stand. She then whispers to me "i'm taking you to the bathroom" I nod and she takes me down a hallway. She then helps me into the bathroom, and she helps me use it...

  Thankfully theirs running water somehow, and soap but no shower. She helps me back to makeshift bed, Markus is still their. I sit down and Markus kneels down in front of me, "this isn't the best living conditions for a human. I'm going back to the city to search for something better. I'll be back before the sun sets." "Alright" please be careful, Markus then gets up and leaves Jericho.
 
{A/n- i'm changing up the story of the game a little. At this point the humans don't know who Markus is. Also Carl survives and Kamski isn't a douchebag}

  Markus POV

I walk up to the convenience store and go up to android running it. I grab her arm "I need your help," she cuts the security feed and deletes the footage permanently. She then opens the cash register and takes out all the money. She then opens the safe and grabs all of the other money, I hand her the backpack I have and she puts everything in the bag. "Tell me if you need me to bring the girl food," "thank you."
