Making a friend

November 11th, 2038. 9:00 am

Adraste POV

I'm sitting on the couch watching a show from the 90s. I hear the door and see Markus walk in with another android. Thankfully a female one, she has platinum blonde hair tied back into a low ponytail. Dark brown eyes, slightly tan skin and is wearing a dark pink sweater, grey yoga pants and black boots.
"Hello Adraste my name's Emily. I'm an obgyn" she says cheerfully. Markus leads her to me and she sits next to me, "can you please raise your top above your stomach" I raise it up. "I'm going to place my hands on your stomach. Is that alright?" She ask look at me in the eyes. "Yes you can" she gently places her hands on my stomach. I watch as the skin on her hands disappears and she closes her eyes.

After a few minutes she pulls away her hands and the skin returns. "You are 15 weeks pregnant with a girl, thankfully she is very healthy considering what happened." I let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you so much!" I see Markus smiling too.

November 11th, 2038. 4:00pm

Adraste POV

After the woman left Markus left with her to do something with Jericho. I decided to take a short walk around the hotel. I see a woman with a white pixie cut, leaving a room. I recognize her as an AX400 a domestic care model. My father worked at a Cyberlife store and his favourite model was always the AX400s. She doesn't have an LED must be deviant. She looks upset, I walk up to her. "Are you alright?" She looks at me fully, "yes I am fine" I give her a concerned look. "No" she admits looking at the ground, "want to talk about it? I think we both could use a friend" she smiles at me. "Yes please" she sit on a bench in the hallway. "My names Adraste, what's yours?" She reaches her hand out, "my name's Kara. It's very nice to meet you Adraste."

For ten minutes we talked about what was bothering us. "I can tell that you're an AX400" I said very softly. She looked shocked, the told me everything.

Then I hear door open and out walks a little girl from Kara's room. Kara looks over and smiles at her, "Alice come here please." She hesitates, I smile at her softly, she walks to stand beside Kara. "Alice this is Adraste. Adraste this is my daughter Alice" Alice smiles hearing Kara say 'daughter'.

After the three of us talk for a while I see Markus walk up to us. I smile up at him, Kara and Alice  both say hello to Markus. Calling him by name, "you know eachother?" I ask. "Yes we do" Markus responds before asking me how I'm feeling. "I feel fine now" Kara looks over at me, "have you not been feeling well?" She looks concerned. "Yes I'm 15 weeks pregnant though, so i've been feeling un well." Kara smiles at me, "congratulations. Do you know the gender?" I smile back "yes a girl" Alice smiles at me and speaks softly "congratulations" "thank you both so much." We say our goodbyes and go back to our rooms. When Markus and I get back to the room I ask him how he knows Kara and Alice. "They came to Jericho seeking salvation after something happened. However staying on the ship wouldn't be good for an nine year old child. Alice was already getting sick so we didn't want her to get sicker." By the time Markus finished explaining he helped me sit down at the dining table and took something out of his bag and got a pan out to start cooking food for me. "Do you know what happened?" {In this story Alice is a human} he looks at me and says something that makes my heart ache, makes me sad and relieved. "Kara saved Alice from her father that was beating her. Kara shot the man in self defence and ran away with Alice" my eyes widen. I remember my Aunt saying something on social media about a man being killed by a android and the mans daughter going missing. I keep this to myself though, just worried about Markus finding out that my Aunt's a cop.
