Chapter 10: Glimpse

Third Person's POV

As Chaeyoung exited the elevator she followed Jennie to the meeting room.

As they went into the meeting room there Chaeyoung saw all the prominent company CEOs talking about business and money.

This makes me sick Chaeyoung thought and as she scanned the room she noticed Lisa sitting beside Mina.

"You got here quick," Chaeyoung said to Lisa and sat beside her.

"I thought you got here first, slowpoke. But it seems like you were busy" Lisa teased Chaeyoung as she saw Jennie and Chaeyoung going out to the elevator together and hit her arm.

"Oh, shut up," Chaeyoung said to Lisa

Everyone settled in their seats as the meeting was about to start, Chaeyoung noticed the seat beside her being empty and thought late?

Mr. Kim then went inside with two body guards behind him and greeted his daughter and said

"To my shareholders please begin the presentation of your company"

As Chaeyoung got bored hearing the presentation in her seat she kept eyeing someone who sat on the left side of the table beside the CEO of Kim Innovations, immersed in her work not acknowledging everyone whatsoever, flipping through papers to check on something, checking company works and charts. Until they met each other's eyes again. Somehow, Chaeyoung doesn't want to look away from Jennie's eyes, her eyes resemble the memories they had together making Chaeyoung think about the past.

In the past...

"Jennie, I love you," Chaeyoung said to Jennie as they lay together in the most breathtaking view of the cliff. Watching the sunset in the horizon together, hearing the waves below them crash through the sand, a soothing breeze making them calm. A breeze wherein a perfect moment to share each other's presence and proclaiming each other's love.

"I love you most my dear Rose," Jennie said sincerely and caressed Chaeyoung's cheeks as they faced each other.

"I promise, I won't leave you Jen, I'll always be with you my mandu" Chaeyoung looked at Jennie's eyes seeing the strong brown orbs eyes staring in front of her.

In the present...
"Is that right Ms. Park?" Jennie said as she presented a PPT to everyone.

And Chaeyoung snapped to reality caught daydreaming about their memories together in the past without paying attention to what's happening in front of her.

"I- excuse me?" Chaeyoung said asking to repeat the question but Jennie stayed silent doing it on purpose to make Chaeyoung embarrassed in front of the CEO.

"She said if you'll agree that having a collaboration between Kim Innovations and Park Spectra helps the economy to improve," Someone said beside her.

"Sana?" Chaeyoung said caught off guard.

I thought she was just a normal person she thought.

"Hey Park Chaeyong we meet again," Sana said and smiled sweetly at her.

Someone coughed to get Chaeyoung's attention and when Chaeyoung looked back Jennie was folding her arms in her chest to answer her proposal.

"I need to think about it for now Ms. Kim, I can't make hasty decisions just for the economy to improve without also seeing the risk that might happen to my father's company."

"Well said, Ms. Park" Sana snickered praising Chaeyoung and she lightly blushed.

"Very well, I'll talk to Ms. Park in private after my father's presentation to discuss our collaboration for the better" Jennie announced in the room and it fell silent. Lisa on the other hand, keeps her laugh together and widens her eyes as she looked Chaeyoung.

"Jinja? Omo what could it be Chaeyoung-ah" Lisa said snickering.

Chaeyoung mentally facepalmed herself at her best friend's actions.

"As you all may know I had trouble last night dealing with Luxe" Jennie suddenly said in front of the CEOs Lisa's father looked at her with a face that said "What did you do now!?" and Lisa was gulping nervously as she looked at Chaeyoung. But Chaeyoung was also suddenly serious studying Jennie's strategy and predicting Jennie's next move.

I knew this would happen but bring it on, Jennie Chaeyoung mentally prepared herself for what was going to happen next. 

"And luckily Mr. Manoban's smart daughter was there to help me with their company's successful products receiving great potential all around the world, please give Lalisa Manoban a round of applause" Jennie smiled and clapped her hands while looking at Chaeyoung.

Chaeyoung and Lisa widened their eyes and looked at each other slowly.

Just what in the world is she doing? Chaeyoung thought.

Lisa then awkwardly thanked everyone and got praise from her father.

"Yeah! That's my daughter the future of Luxe!" Mr. Manoban said and praised her daughter more. 

"Now, let us listen attentively to my father's presentation about the future project together" Jennie announced and sat, she suddenly looked at Chaeyoung and smirked.

Kim Jennie, what are you up to?
