Chapter 12: Hospital

Third person's POV
The drive to the hospital was silent and tight the tension that Chaeyoung was creating was still unsure, contemplating what to do with the offer Jennie proposed.

What is she thinking about blackmailing me? Revenge? Chaeyoung thought hard about the possible threat of what could happen if she made the decision irrationally. 

Amid her contemplation, Chaeyoung's phone rang through her expensive and luxurious Lamborghini. Chaeyoung saw the caller ID and answered through the screen of her car.

Hellour? 

What happened Chae? Lisa said on the phone surrounding the sound of Lisa's voice echoed in Chaeyoung's car

I'll tell you when we meet Lis, for now, I have to go to my father for something important

Okay, I understand send my regards to your uncle and tell me everything when I visit you.

And with that, Chaeyoung ended the call and focused on the road.

When she arrived at the hospital she handed the cars to her family assistant and proceeded to ask the nurse of the room of her father.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for Mr. Park's room," She said

"Oh you must be his daughter, he's in room 73 on the top 7th floor he's been asking the nurses if someone is visiting him aside from his wife and your sister" The nurse empathetically.

"Ahh is that so, then I'll be going then"

Chaeyoung was now on the 7th floor looking intently at the door whether the simple knock would do her no good or something explicit in her imagination that could imagine, but she had no choice but to knock and prepare herself for her dad's statements and demands.

I guess I can't run forever. Here goes nothing 

*knock knock

"Come in" She recognized the voice and it was her sister when she went in the door her family was shocked to see their eldest daughter visit them for the first time. When Chaeyoung looked at his dad's reaction his eyes went wide and had an expression that he was glad that his heir was finally here to visit him.

"Hey everyone," Chaeyoung said "U-unnie? you're here!" Ryuijin said and quickly ran towards her sister to hug her.

"Hey Ryu" Chaeyoung smiled in the hug and hugged her sister back.

"Oh my daughter, how are you?" Chaeyoung's mom also stood up and hugged her daughter.

"I've been doing fine eomma, just a couple of setbacks here and there but I can manage them well," Chaeyoung said and smiled a little at her mom.

"I know you can my little girl, you're a Park after all," Her mom said and caressed Chaeyoung's face.

"That's right you're a Park and that's enough for me to know that you're worthy to inherit my company" Suddenly his dad said and looked at Chaeyoung with serious eyes and a blank expression which Chaeyoung knew the expression was familiar when she was a kid seeing her dad negotiating with big CEO in the country.

"How are you dad?" was only Chaeyoung could say to her dad.

"Not quite good child," Her dad said sadly, everyone in the room was silent hearts beating fast in a risky situation anytime soon they knew what could happen to him, already grivieving and hoping what could happen to him. He then looked at his wife with those desperate eyes of his telling her that she wanted to speak with Chaeyoung privately. Mrs. Park gets the signal and hurriedly drags Ryujin.

"Come on Ryujin darling let's get something to eat for your sister" Her mom faintly smiled and Ryujin agreed without any refusal because she knew her dad wanted to speak with Chaeyoung.

Chaeyoung saw them leaving and went near to the bedside of her dad and pulled a chair for her to sit.

"I know that you had a meeting with Kim Innovations" His dad weakly said trying to compose every sentence coherently for her daughter to understand.

"You must already guess what their next move is Father" Chayoung crossed her legs and fidgeted her fingers remembering the blackmail of her ex-lover.

"I know my daughter, I can already see that they started to set the traps for you to come and get stuck with but I know that you can handle it how I taught you when you were a kid" Her father coughed and caught his breath to see the reaction of her talented and smart daughter if he's right. And as he looked at Chaeyoung's face it was expressionless a cold and despicable face without any emotion displayed.

"You're right father, I won't explain the traps they've set but I need you to trust me for the decision I'm about to make for the sake of our company and our future" Chaeyoung's tone got serious, and looked at his with determination and consent for his father to trust her.

"How could I not trust you, my daughter? of course" His dad said and smiled at her weakly and touched her hands.

"I know I made a lot of mistakes to you in the past, I admit that I was wrong setting you up with arranged marriages that you didn't want but before my last breath comes promise me that you will marry someone you love and build a family with them someday you want to dedicate your life to forever." His dad said 

"I promise Dad" Chaeyoung touched his father's hands and felt the wrinkled skin into her skin being reminded that her father was going to go away soon. Despite the fight they had for setting Chaeyoung with marriages in the past she still refused every single one of them because she only loved one woman in her life and his father was aware that her daughter loved someone that's also dangerous as her made him worry for her daughter, but she trusts her because after all he trained him how to deal with business and love.

"You've grown so much my daughter, It's been yesterday that I held you for the first time with your innocent and sweet face and adoring eyes, it's such a shame that I couldn't be with you when you achieve something, I love you, my sweet child." His dad said sadly and a tear escaped his eyes while remembering the moments they had being partners and learning from childhood until adulthood.

"I won't let you down Dad and I'll always remember the things you've taught me" Chaeyoung also said on the verge of crying seeing her dad suffering makes her heart crumble despite everything his dad had done to her, he is still her father.

"This must be my karma for setting you up with people you didn't love, I'm an old geezer and have cancer stage 4 for heaven's sake Chaeyoung, I know you'll do just fine because leaving you behind is my greatest prize I could win" Her dad chuckled and smiled at her daughter.

Chaeyoung finally shed a tear because it was the first time she heard her dad being proud of her.

Chaeyoung spent time in the hospital with her family until it was time for her to go home she bid her family goodbye and went home. But before she could exit the hospital her sister stopped her and said

"You'll come back right unnie?"

"I'm not sure, Ryu. Just take care of dad, alright?"Chaeyoung then drove herself back to her mansion leaving her sister with a pleading gaze as the looked in her rear view mirror.
