chapter 1

wednesday pov:

the morning after the whole crackstone incident we were told to pack our bags and return to our homes.

as i am packing, i hear enid hum a song while she was packing her bags at the other side of the room.

my eyes follow the colourfull girl and admire her from my side of the room.

she saved me. she saved the school. she wolfed out to save me. and i am forever gratefull she did.

that night changed something in me. she changed me. since the incident woth my pet scorpion, i vowed to never feel or show emotions ever again, so i've built an imaginary wall around me to keep the emotions outside.

but i am afraid that enid has made a crack in the wall. i hugged her back and it felt right. it felt good. i felt save.

after the hug we returned to nevermore, both in silence. we both took turns on taking a shower and went to sleep.

not that i could sleep anyway, because i had only one thing on my mind: enid.

i couldn't get her of my mind and i still can't. i haven't said much today. i was just listening to enid.

i finish packing my suitcases and sit on my bed. i got knocked out of my thoughts when i heard enid calling my name

"wednesday?" she asks. i look up at enid "yes?" i respond. "did you hear what i asked?"

"no i did not. i am sorry, i was zoned out for a minute there" the girl smiled "no worries, anyway do you maybe wanna come over in the forced vacation?" she asked.

normally i would say no immediately. but for once i actually want to go.

"sure" "okay, um how are we gonna do this?" she puts her finger on her chin as if she was thinking really hard.

"what do you mean?" i ask confused. "well since you don't have a phone, i can't text you my adress or plan when you can come over..."

"i can buy a phone" "you are whilling to buy a phone?" she said raising her eyebrow.

"i figured it could be usefull" i answered dryly. "well come on! we still have a few hours before we get picked up by our parents. lets get you a phone!"
