chapter 10

enid pov:

"are you serious!?" i squeeled out of exitement. "i am, so lets finish breakfast and pack our suitcases."

"YOU finish breakfast, i am already finished because it tasted soo good" i said while smiling towards her mother.

"thank you dear. and i will inform lurch that he will drive you two to the appartment in jericho" her mother said while walking out.

"i'll call my mom in a minute. to tell her i will not be home for the next few months."

wednesday nods and finished eating. i took the time to call my mom and inform her of the situation.

wednesday pov:

enid walked back to my room to call her mom and i finished my food.

i assume that the appartment will be emtpy so we'll have to go to an ikea or something to buy furniture..

i put away my dish into the dishwasher and walk back to my room.

i entered and enid was sitting on my bed, smiling. "she told me she was fine with it!"

"good, now lets pack, we have a long day ahead of us."

it took us both about an hour to get all of our stuff back into our suitcases.

"i am ready!" "me too, lets walk to the car. lurch will put the suitcases in the car"

we walk to the car and we get in the back. "wednesday?" she asked. "yes?" "does lurch ever get a day off? like a break or something?"

i never thought of that. but the man is technically dead so does he even want a day off?

"he never took a day off. i will ask if he wants a day off." i said while sitting neatly in the back of the car.

lurch entered the car. "lurch?" i ask. he grunts. "do you want a day off? some time for yourself?"

he turned his head around and and smirked a tiny bit. "i'd love that" he said in a really low voice.

"you talk?" i ask. he nods. "wow you didn't even know he could talk?" enid asked me.

"he never talked since i met him so i assumed he didn't talk. he always just grunts. but i guess he appreciates the gesture of havijg a day off."

he started driving and when i looked in the mirror, he was smiling. i will tell my parents that lurch can have more days off.

the drive wasn't absurdly long and it took us only 2 hours to arrive in jericho. enid fell asleep after 10 minutes because she was bored.

i softly shake the girl to wake her "enid wake up, we are here." her eyes open and adjust to the sunlight.

the car stops in front of a building and lurch gets out of the car and opens the door for us.

"thank you lurch" i said while getting out of the car. this made him smile again. "you're the best lurch!" enid said while trying to give him a fistbump.

i thought it was silly because i thought he didn't know whata fistbump was, but i was wrong. he gave enid a fistbump and closed the door behind enid.

we get to the door of the appartment my mother reserved for us and i open it with the key she gave me.

i open the door and we walk inside the empty appartment. "so this is where we are gonna live for the upcoming months huh. looks pretty nice and big" enid said while scanning the appartment

it was indeed big. "let's go to ikea and buy some furniture, lurch will drop us off."

enid nods and we get back into the car. lurch walks out of the appartment after he dropped off our luggage and got back into the car.

"to ikea lurch!" enid said excited. let's go furniture shopping!
