chapter 2

enid pov:

i drag wednesday out of the dorm and we walk downstairs. many outcasts are pacing around the school.

we walk through all the people and finally exit the building. while we were walking towards jericho, i talked a lot and wednesday just stayed silent.

i'm not sure if she was listening to the things i said, but she was definitly looking at me. almost staring even.

we arrived at the local electronics store and walked inside. we were greeted by one of the workers.

"hello ladies, what can i help you with?" he asked. "oh uh, we are looking for a phone. well, my friend here is." i explained

"okay, what phone do you have now?" he asks. "i don't have a phone.." wednesday answered.

"oh okay. do you have any preferences?" he asks wednesday. "get an iphone" i whispered in her ear.

"what's an iphone?" she whispered back. "a brand and its pretty good."

"i want an iphone." she said to the man. "price range?" he asks. "that don't matter. i want the newest and best iphone you got"

"you want the iphone 15 pro max?" she nods. "any accesories?" she shakes her head no. "meet me at the front i will be right with you."

minutes later, wednesday was paying for her new iphone and i was standing besides her in shock.

as we were walking outside, i looked at her, still in shock. "how can you afford that" i asked her

"not your concern." "okay, can i set it up for you?" i ask with a smile. she hands me the box and i carefully rip off the seal.

"maybe we should find a bench so we can sit while setting up your phone." i suggested.
she agreed and we found a bench at the nearby park.

i turn on the phone and set it up.i put in my number, made her an email account, made her social media accounts (and while i was there i followed my own account)

then i gave her the phone and she raised an eyebrow. "what?" i ask. "enid, you gave me the phone as if i already know how to use it. i expected you to atleast inform me how to do basic things with it."

"oh right sorry" i giggle. i start explaining some things, like how to text or call someone. and how to use the basic socials like instagram, twitter,tiktok etc.

"now you are all set." i said with a wide smile on my face. "don't expect me to call or text you as often as i see you text yoko."

"a message a day is enough for me" i said with a small giggle. "i think i can do that. now shall we head back to the dorm? i think our parents will arrive soon"

"yeah you are right." i said while we both standup from the bench. wewalk backto nevermore and when we arrived, we saw our parents cars outside the entrance.

we get to the dorm and our parents were picking up our stuff. well, mine were. wednesday's butler was picking her stuff up and her parents just stood by.

i walk towards the smaller girl and try to hug her, but she denied the hug. "i'm gonna miss you wednesday. remember i will text you every day."

"and i will visit you when i when i have the time. goodbye enid." she walks closer to me and hugged me. OH MY GOD SHE HUGGED ME!

her parents were shocked, and so am i. she initiated a hug! i ofcourse hugged her back immediately. the i hear something whisper in my ear

"i like your hugs enid" she whispered. my eyes siden and she pulls back, turning around and signing to her parents to leave.

when she whispered that in my ear, i felt a shiver run down my spine. my face felt hot.

i watch the family leave, her parents and brother in front and wednesday last. before she closed the door, she looked back and winked at me.
